Cavalli Restaurant

Wow, where to begin?! I travelled all the way to Stellenbosch and was really excited to visit Cavalli and other wineries in the region. We were served by Zoliswa who we initially thought was a nice person as she apologised for keeping us waiting, but we didn't mind. It went down hill after that... She served us the first bottle of wine and didn't explain what it was until I asked. Her responses were curt, sarcastic and overall extremely condescending. I am not sure if she's a tribalist, racist or colourist... I'm black after all but race really shouldn't matter. I have never felt so patronised especially in such an establishment. After reading other reviews on the internet, it's evident that this is Cavalli's culture. Arrogant! Zoliswa seems as if we were bothering her, she didn't change the glasses between each wines too except when we moved to red. It was a painful experience and left a bitter taste in our mouths. Wanted to take some wines away to gift friends but changed our minds after this. Will never return nor buy your wines. Ever.

We went there yesterday for a set lunch and a wine tasting. The wine tasting surly is one of the better ones in this area. Because the weather wasn't good we "had to" do the wine tasting in the tasting room which was our luck. Great atmosphere, great taste, great service really well priced,.... whats not to love?Than we had the set lunch menu wich was amazing. The gentleman serving the wine really new what is is doing and when I appologized that the Rosé is niot my taste he didn't hesitate to offer another glass of MCC which by the way is amazing. The food, fine dining it is,... just an incredible experience. We will surly be back.IS there something to criticize. Well next time we would come when its warm and sit outside. personally I found it a bit on the loud side in the restaurant. No reason not to go there but hint, hint,.... book outside if the weather allows it. Ahh,... by the way. Do the wine tasting, join the club, get 10% off from your lunch. Its soooo worth it.

Cavalli is in an exquisite setting, but that is the case with many restaurants. What truly sets this restaurant apart is the attention to detail and thought and care put into the menu by the phenomenal chef. At Cavalli vegetarians are actually valued and it's shown in the thoughtfulness of the staff and the absolutely sublime food!

Unfortunately the food was not good.We ordered the Rissoto which was Infact the better of the six meals but it was unrefined and looked like porridge.The pork with grated lettice, overly sweet apple and tart grapes with balsamic was just awful.The Chef referred to the beef as wagu however it really was just cheap fatty stewing steak.The potatoes were the best part of the dish except they had no salt and were covered in some kind of sour cream.The panacotta was warm scrambled egg.The cheese platter used to be a delight, different cheeses, figs, Cape gooseberries.Now it is old blue cheese so bitter and crumbley, dark brown hard toast.The chef has turned a five star eating experience into what can only be referred to as the worst meal I have eaten in a long time. If you can't actually cook what does it take to pick out a few tried and tested recipes and make delicious food. Definitely won't go back for this inedible over priced wannabe food.

Had such a bad vibe... The wine is nice but the service from Zoliswa... Acting as if I'm paying from her pocket... Never felt welcomed at the place. She is not customer friendly and she does not listen!

Cavalli has uber cool interiors, as well as exterior plantings that make a statement as you drive up the lush driveway. And just fabulous - the most artfully presented food which was imaginative, inventive and delicious. The restaurant was busy with locals on a Wednesday, but it was a holiday. The secret is out! Cavalli is an extremely hip place to come for a meal. Way cool.

We had an awesome evening there. The food is amazing and the location impressive. Definitely one of the leading restaurants in the Cape Town area.

It was our second time at Cavalli Estate. The atmosphere is great, food is divine, view incredible.Service is excellent and Pink Pony wine is one of my favorite. Definitely not our last time at Cavalli.

This is our fourth visit to Cavalli! As always it is an experience to remember. Took friends for their first time. They were ecstatic about the place and the food!

Stunning food, architecture and art in the heart of the Winelands. The service was excellent. Views incredible. And, there are some of the best memorabilia collections of South African sport as part of the gallery. A wonderful surprise.
