Blacksmiths Kitchen is a cosy bistro-style restaurant situated on Pearl Mountain, a fifth generation, family-run farm. The eatery is known for their vast selection of Pearl Mountain and locally sourced wines, as well as an array of innovative, Mediterranean-inspired dishes and thin-crusted, wood-fired pizzas.
With Blacksmiths Kitchen located inside a historic cottage, guest will enjoy the old-world charm of the restaurant. The interior is minimally decorated and most of the original features of the building have been preserved, thus transporting guests to a bygone era. During balmy Summer days, take a seat on the outside patio under a canopy of trees. Enjoy a glass of wine or a pot of tea with friends while marvelling at the views of the sprawling vineyards.
Diners who want to share an ‘in-betweener’ meal with others can snack on a tapas board. This dish comes with a selection of dips and nibbles – think home-made hummus, black olive tapenade, and pizza crisps.
If it’s suppertime and you haven’t worked up an appetite, opt for one of the Blacksmiths Kitchen’s lighter meals. The ‘Salmon Mousse’ is easy on the stomach, and is served with a smoked salmon horseradish cream, pickled beetroot, and cherry tomatoes.
For the more adventurous eaters, the ‘Moroccan Chicken Supreme’ is well worth a taste. This exotic dish comprises of chicken breasts stuffed with apricot and almond mousse on a bed of cauliflower rice, and served with a dukkah spiced chermoula sauce and garden-fresh peas.
Patrons who enjoy Italian fare can choose from a wide selection of pizzas. Meat-lovers can opt for the ‘Three Little Pigs’, a cheesy treat topped with mozzarella, bacon, salami, pulled pork and rocket.
If you’ve got space for a dessert, Blacksmith Kitchen’s baked cheesecake is a must-try. This decadent delight has an oreo crust and is served with a berry sauce.
