Punjab Express

We ordered samosas as a takeaway for our family. It was served hot in takeaway containers together with a tasty source. We enjoyed the meal at home watching TV.

Having spent many months throughout India this restaurant bought back happy memories. The gentleman serving was so polite and helpful. We especially loved the lamb madras and chicken tikka masala. Both came with rice and lovely naan bread. Really delicious. Obviously a beer goes down well but the rosé wine also fitted the bill. Will certainly come back here. Highly recommended. Can probably share 2 dishes between 3 unless you are starving.

We got a take away rather than sit at restaurant. I had the prawn malabar which was delicious, although from previous orders, all items are great (sag gosht and Rogan gosht)

We had an extraordinary good evening celebrating a friend's birthday. We have eaten here before. Always impressed with their food, if you like Indian curry! Well priced. Especially their buffet evenings. Eat as much as you want. Very friendly and well trained staff.

We've been eating at Punjab Express since it first opened and have loved every meal there. The curries are absolutely delicious, the portions reasonably sized and the service always friendly. We mostly eat vegetarian and can't find a comparable offering in Cape Town.

The ambience is cheap and cheerful, the food consistently good and the service friendly. Beware of ordering a hot curry unless you are made of stern stuff.

Highly recommended, Rogan josh was Flippen delicious, butter chicken was very nice!! This is a little hidden gem tuck away!!

Bought a take away curry here - excellent food. Substituted roti for the rice, at a little extra cost. Delicious curry.

My wife and I visited this restaurant on a Thursday evening.The decor is tacky and the placed looked a bit dirty.We thoroughly enjoyed the food, but we suffered from food poisoning the following day.It took my wife three days to recover.Will never go back, please avoid at all cost.

This is supposed to be about food, BUT, the restaurant looks more Mexican than Indian. Check out the table photo and the colours. The music was contemporary/classic jazz, with the double bass banging away in the background. Don’t get me wrong, I like jazz, but it’s wholly inappropriate for an Indian restaurant. So, Mexican decor, Jazz Music, how about the food?? Difficult to comment as I only had Butter Chicken, basmati rice and a roti ( no naan bread as the oven was off, which was ok as it was middle of the afternoon). It was good, not outstanding and what I would call a solid effort. My litmus test is always would I be back. I would have to say probably not. Certainly not in a hurry. Perhaps I am being unfair as the food was not bad but the heavy wooden tables and screaming trumpets put me off.....A good take away restaurant??
