Cafe Caprice

Sunset drinks and bar snacks with our dog at this cafe opposite the beach was such a lovely experience. The staff made us feel so welcome, especially our dog. Half price vegan nachos and half price margaritas. Great music and atmosphere. Love the vibe!

We went to Cafe Caprice on a Sunday morning, on the morning of our check-out, for a quick breakfast. This restaurant is always full in the afternoons and evenings, with a vibey atmosphere and with patrons enjoying drinks on the veranda, with a beautiful view to Camps Bay beach. Our expectations were therefore high, and unfortunately we were deeply disappointed. Slow service, a long wait for food (apparently they were making “30 or 40 coffees for swimmers coming in”) and food that was at best OK. Maybe it was just a bad day, and I will return sometime for a late afternoon drink. Unfortunately this experience was poor.

Restaurant was half empty on a Sunday and we waited over an hour for hour food. Quality ok not amazing.

We had a wonderful family dinner experience with amazing food and a warm and friendly waitress.The prawn pasta was flavorful, the vegan burger was yummy, and the beef burgers were juicy and amazing - and we got these super sized burgers at ‘buy 1 get 1 free on a Tuesday’ I highly recommend you give this vibey restaurant a try

Your club sandwich is a total rip- off for R145.00, Service was good , with very attentive waitresses. Toilets need a regular check, as they were dirty! Ordered tequila and the shot glass was only filled 3/4. R60 a tot, one would expect a full glass (25ml) and its clearly evident Barman are free pouring and probably incentivized to under poor. Was a barman for many years, so know all the tricks! Remember the locals are the ones who support your business through the winter months and COVID so don’t rip us off.

We decided to go out for a lunch on this lovely Sunday, and wanted to have a view while we dine, so we decided to go to Cafe Caprice.WHAT A MISTAKEFirst when we asked the waiter what she thought about particular items on the menu she just said, sorry I don't eat that so I wouldn't know, If I'm not mistaken it is a waiters job to know their menu and know how to recommend items and know how they taste.After waiting 1h15 min our food arrived, because we told her if our food isn't here in 10 min we are leaving, and she didn't even once check up on our table, we had to call her the whole time, and when she walked pass she made as if she didn't see us.and it was not even as if the restaurant was that busy, and there was also only a few people at each table, so they had no excuses, of being to busy. As a professional chef and previously working as a waiter I know this is not at all industry standards and especially not for a restaurant on such a prime spot, good luck.We told the waiter at the end of the meal we weren't very satisfied and that the food was tasteless and poorly prepared, she went and told the manager and he didn't even showed the slightest interest in the matter.Such a shame for such a beautiful destination, Camps Bay.

We arrived and the hostess asked us to wait for a table, because they had reservations. After waiting for more then 2 hours, she said that if we wanted to sit, we should buy a table. Even though, we decided to stay because it was a place that a lot of people recommended. So, became the rude barman. He served our drinks in the half cup, and like a mess. My one was supposed to come with chocolate on top of it, and he left all over the cup. Seemed to be on purpose. I don’t know if they don’t like Brazilians or what, but I will let anyone know: don’t go! No one deserves to be threaten like that.

Visited this restaurant whilst on holidayBeautiful day nice spot overlooking the ocean. Ordered a sharing seafood platterOne of the items on the platter was beer battered hake which I was really looking forward to, unfortunately when the dish arrived there were 3 fairly large pieces of fish not what I expected goujon’s to be.The largest piece was well cooked on the outside but when you cut int the fish the inside was a soggy batter. Ate a couple ofMouthfuls of fish but gave up in the end.To be fair to the restaurant the did offerSomething else and to their credit did not charge us for the wine, but overall the food experience was not great for us

We stopped here for some pre-dinner cocktails and both the rock star mojito and the cap collins were delicious. Great atmosphere, beach views and friendly waitress.

Been to Cafe Caprice a few times and have always enjoyed the atmosphere and good service. The nachos have never disappointed and we always have them. The food in general is very acceptable and reasonably priced.
