A nautical restaurant in an airy wood-and-glass building with enormous terraces overlooking a yacht basin that’s as fascinating during the day as it’s romantic at night, DryDock serves casually elegant seafood, meat and vegetarian food and offers an extensive and informative wine list.
Seafood dishes range from the pure (perfect, fresh coastal oysters) to the complex (line fish layered with aubergine, avocado pear, rocket, orange segments and smoked salmon trout). And who can resist a dish of West Coast mussels prepared in white wine, lemon, pickled ginger, lemongrass and coriander? A vegetarian roulade of spinach, leeks, brie and butternut? Springbok or ostrich fillet? Kassler Chops? Or slivers of chicken breast stir-fried with a medley of vegetables and egg noodles in a Cajun sweet chilli sauce?
Alfresco lunches and dinners are also served on the terrace, where you can linger over cocktails as you watch the sun sink slowly over the lagoon.
