Lily’s, The Latest Eatery To Grace Cape Town’s Golden Mile


Local hospitality group The Kove Collection is known for its string of successful restaurants, bars and hotels strategically located in destinations popular with the city’s coolest. Clifton has Bungalow; the V&A Waterfront has Dalliance; Constantia has Blanko; Camps Bay boasts Paranga, The Marly and La Belle; and now - in addition to Pepenero - Mouille Point is home to Lily’s: An all-day eatery that serves up contemporary comfort food in a relaxed seaside setting that’s as friendly as it is fashion-forward.

Locals and their canine companions are very welcome in to this new neighbourhood 'happy place" for coffee, breakfasts and lunches, and come cocktail hour, the after-work drinks crowd settles in for sundowners and sumptuous sunset dinners overlooking the Atlantic.

 

Lily's is particularly close to Kove Collection MD Paul Kovensky’s heart because of his family’s personal connection to the place:

"The menu and decor were designed and inspired by my wife Simone, and we named the restaurant after our daughter, Lily. It's a special place with a unique personality that appeals to young and old. It’s quirky. It’s fun. And it has soul."

Kove Collection Group Head Chef Amber Deetlefs and her team have created a unique modern menu that emphasizes health and showcases fresh, locally sourced produce, without taking itself too seriously.

 

Opt for garlicky ‘Gun Show Mussels’, ‘Biltong Carpaccio’ or ‘Caesar Salad Croquettes’ to start. Mains include the likes of ‘Epic Fish and Chips’ (battered fish with aioli and root veg chips); ‘Crispy Quack’ (crispy confit duck leg with peas, mint and potato puree) and ‘The Dirty Birdie’ (a Mexican spiced chicken breast on a brioche bun with Manchego cheese, coleslaw, house pickles and fries).

For the vegetarians, you can’t go wrong with the vegan, gluten- and dairy-free ‘Everything but the Sink Coconut Curry’ or a ‘Buddha Bowl’ (quinoa, kale, baby spinach, almonds, haloumi, avo and egg). Salads, ‘Ditch the bread and it’s a salad’ gourmet and toasted sandwiches, and irresistible desserts also feature.

Like the eclectic menu, decor combines crisp, contemporary styling - think clean lines, Scandi furniture, and natural textures - with playful accents, resulting in a warm and whimsical space that makes Lily’s the perfect spot to linger.
