Lily's Restaurant

We had lunch here and found the tables very close. The decor was pleasing. Our food was average and as such, over-priced. Portions were also very small. Choices fairly limited i.e. only 2 pasta choices. So okay, but there are far better restaurants in the area.

The ocean view is great but the service we received was subpar honestly. Found a long piece of hair in my breakfast this morning. All the manager could do was whisper a lousy “sorry”. Considering the price of food at Lily’s, better service recovery is needed. I will definitely not be back

Great ambiance, service and food. Conveniently located on the street side opposite the beach. Simple menu but caters for all tastes

We (3 persons) have been to Lily's many times before. This time was not so good. Both dishes we have had previously. Fish and chips and the Crispy chicken bowl. Soggy fish that really was very old and tasted stale (most of the food was left on the plate) Lily's has changed the batter and the portions were actually to big, greasy fish and undercooked. A case as far as I'm concerned of 'QUANTITY OVER QUALITY' I've seen this a lot in cape town. Chicken plate...dry dry & DRY! the chicken was so tuff that one of us had to swop our plates over with our guest. It tasted like cardboard, no flavour and just covered in a thick heavy sauce (it looked really bad). The rest of the plate which I thought would be easy to make look artistic was thrown together, rough old avocado and small amount of red cabbage slaw (I think?) Shame really as the chips were nice. Sushi rice very nice but please...lets have some soy or dress the rice up????. I do think the food at Lily's is good as I said we have been here plenty of times but there are a few very simple things which I have spoke to the manager about and still they haven't approached doing anything about this. (Call me and ill explain more, to me eating out is always about the smallest detail and I feel there are a lot of details Lily's lacks)

Beautiful location right opposite the sea, social distancing, sanitizer on the table, friendly staff and a good menu. Food was good but a little pricey.

Bottom stands of tables are disgustingly dirty. Manager or owner smokes her vape inside the restaurant

Had long fair hair in fish yesterday lunch. Managers response ‘sorry however no one in kitchen has blonde hair so must have come from another table’! Astonishing!

Food is fine and service friendly.BUT the prices is same as in Paris or Copenhagen.Definitely not for locals.Burger R165Glass of red wine R115Pleasant but be prepared to pay through the roof.

I've been here twice in the last three perfect Cape days !Sundowners and a quick dinner - and lunch - both fabulous!Beautifully presented and tasty food wonderful service plus of course the sea air!
