Got to Yindees early on Friday evening. Went without a reservation and got a table.
We ordered the Sweet Corn Fritters starter. It was made with fresh sweet corn and was delicious. The best was yet to come. We had the Kingklip Chilli Fish -...absolutely excellent.
Our waitress was Fadzi - who was just great. Attentive, but gave us space.

“Nice Location, average Food”
As starter we had Tom Yum soup which was quite okay, followed by almost cold served Dim Sum. Laab Kai salad was not freshly made, they used a cold and dry pre cooked chicken brest. The salad dressing was unseasoned so we tried to order...lime, fish sauce and chillies to get it more tasty. The waitress brought us Soy Sauce because she did not understand what we wanted. King Klip as main dish was okay, maybe a little to sweet. Red Wine by the glas far too warm, estimated 26°. Overall nothing to write home about.More

“The best Thai food in years !”
The place is not fancy but with a lot of character!
The food is divine.... the satay starters as in Bangkok.
The mains... wild duck and crispy duck were divine. Perfect friendly service too
A must in Cape Town !

“Good Soothing Thai Food”
This was not my culinary adventure but just a breather from the flood of excellent seafood in Cape Town. I needed something light and so I had tom yum soup with seafood, red vegetable curry and a beer. Both dishes met my expectations of how...these dishes should taste and it was a meal that was both satisfying but not overfilling.
I will remember Yindee's when I need a break from the Cape Town seafood meals with mountains of potatoes and not too many green veggies.More

“Enjoyed Food At Yindee's”
While walking around Kloof street my friends and I walked past Yindee's and decided to check it out. We ordered soup, veggie roles and a variety of dishes which were all good. The staff was very nice especially our waiter Maurice. We enjoyed the food...and his service so much that we decided to go back the next day.More

“If you don't want to eat in a library give it a miss.”
I went to Yindees a few days ago with two other friends. It was a Friday night and we arrived after 9.
We ordered drinks, then starters and mains. Before the mains came out, the waiter asked us to lower our voices as a couple...had complained that we were too loud.
It's worth noting that the couple left before we received our drinks, so the complaint was made before we ordered our meals but we were allowed to order our mains before being told that we would need to "keep it down".
We were having a loud conversation but we were not screaming and found the request to be unreasonable especially as the people who had complained originally had left.
After a bit of back and forth, we told the waiter we would settle what we had had until that point, but we were leaving. He told us we could just leave without paying anything.
The owner followed us out telling us we should be ashamed of ourselves, and telling me I need to keep my women in check. I repeated my argument to him calmly, he got the complaint and decided to act on it before we had ordered anything really and he should have made the conditions of our meal clear before allowing us to order.
He then called one of my friends a motherf%$&r.

“Terrible! Don't waste your money”
The service was slow, the curries were watery and flavorless, the duck was way overcooked and dry, the dim sum was like rubber, the coffee was cold and besides all that, the prices are outrageous. If I have to pay R1000+ for a meal, it...must at least be edible. Will never, ever go back there again.More

Food Service Ambience Value for Money
This place has been here forever. It is our go to place for authentic Thai food. The place is small but the food is good. Fresh produce and good size portions.
