We had a fantastic meal, good service, nice interaction with the owners and a super location. My steak was cooked to medium rare perfection. Highly recommended

This little restaurant has stunning views over the valley and very friendly staff. The atmosphere is very relaxing with a good vibe. The French Toast with berries was the best we ever had and we recommend you do not miss out on this. I am just sorry we couldnt taste the rest of the menu! Will definitely be top of the list on a return visit.

Uncertain arrival time of our six cyclists and a looming curfew meant takeaway dinner for twelve, and Die Dorpshuis did it brilliantly. Everything was thoroughly enjoyed, scrumptiously prepared. Thank you so much for your patience and willingness to accommodate us! We will be back top hopefully have dinner on the stoep!

Thought it would be good to head over for an evening meal.Menu was limited, and the food we ordered came out wrong. Medium steaks were rare, and the sauces incorrect.We asked whether the pepper sauce had any mushrooms in it as one is allergic to them. Our questions were met with complete indifference by the French lady who seemed to be in charge. She really couldn't have cared less.Other than the raw steaks the veg was the complete opposite. They had no texture, or flavour having been boiled to death. They'd be more appropriate served in a nursing home.Over all not a great meal, not great service and best avoided I'd suggest.

Easy place to eat, a B&B doing foodWe had an intriguing pork chop stuffed with spinach, mozzarella and sun dried tomatoes, and a "light" chicken pie. All excellent with house white. Superb value too.

Great hospitality. Excellent food. Limited wine list, but including all local cellars. Communications about times and special events greatly appreciated.

Overall, a lovely night and will be booking again next year when I make the same trip .... Liked · I loved the location and staff - it and they were excellent! The room was spotless and absolutely adored the mosquito nets! Had lovely little snacks and a tiny bottle of local wine set out for an evening on the patio :) My Mum and I had dinner there as well and it was delicious - but the breakfast was by far the highlight! In all my travels that was the best breakfast I have had and would go back happily just for that (although everything else was also great)!!Disliked · The one thing I would suggest is that they mention at check-in that they are experiencing a drought and to be water-wise and I would also suggest installing small (individual-unit) water-heaters or leaving a bucket in each shower so that less water gets wasted while waiting for the water to heat up. Also, the room menus needed to be updated re. the prices.

Loved the stoep, awesome owner. Food was great! I had a steak for supper and it was cooked perfect. Lunch had a burger and the home made patty was excellent.

Went to find a restaurant that is open on a Tuesday night in CalitzdorpFound Die Dorphuis and got blown away by the welcome, the atmosphere, the friendly owner and the food. One word FANTASTIC.

A lovely venue plus delicious food. Could not wish for more. We had the chicken curry with lovely veggies. Friendly staff and good service.
