Den Anker

We looked forward to a lovely outdoor lunch on a sunny winter’s day so we chose Den Anker given our previous good experiences, although a few years back now. While our one friend who chose the pork belly loved her meal three of us chose their beer bartered fish and chips and were disappointed. My wife’s fish still he frozen parts to it!

My husband and I are an early evening meal. Our server was attentive and gracious. I ate mushroom risotto that was delicious. My husband had seafood that he enjoyed as well. The wine list and beer selections were excellent as well. The beautiful setting and water views were the perfect addition to an excellent meal.

Den Anker is a family favorite. The staff are friendly and always welcoming, Joel the waiter/manager is especially professional, attentive and kind. The food is consistently good and never disappoints. This restaurant has it all, definitely recommend!

The food was good, the beer was nice, but since the service was so trash, I'm not interested in experiencing it again. I'm writing this as I'm sitting here, waiting for service for the umpteenth time.

Food, service end attention to detail was reved about by my daughter who took her boyfriend there for a special birthday lunch. Staff went out of their way to make it super special. Book here for a personal touch!

Great Belgian beer selection here, including several Belgian beers on draft. They even offer a tasting flight of all the beers on draft. If you miss Belgian beer or want to try it, this is a great place to go. if you sit on the terrace, there’s a great view of the Cape Grace and the harbour.The menu was authentic Belgian, but the actual food was a bit mediocre and not authentic in ingredients / in taste. If you are in the mood for authentic Belgian cuisine, don’t get your hopes up. We would not recommend the mussels marinière as they add leeks and celery, which are not commonly included in that dish. The steak tartare was prepared, but missing a few key ingredients. In the end, we give this a 5 for the beer selection but a 3 for the food.

The food we ordered (burger and chips) were cold when they arrived as well as our "hot" beverages. The service was excellent, so we felt as though we couldn't really complain. Friendly staff, but cold food.

Always a win!Indulged in the Mussel and Sauvignon Special. Delicious, hearty and super fresh! Friendly service that is efficient and considerate. This restaurant is consistently good!

We enjoyed our dinner but the grilled salmon was a bit dry, though to be fair, perhaps due to us asking for it to be med- well done. Excellent location, very busy. Good draft beer.

Throughly enjoyed our experience at Den Anker, large variety of Belgin beers on tap but your there for the seafood.We both ate the 9 prawn dish it was amazing although I did have meal envy once i saw and rather smelt the mussel hotpot which i later found is the restaurants special.My daughter loved the apple cake, special call out to our waiter Tatunda (spelling probably wrong) he was so attentive even opening our refresher towels prior to completion of the prawn meal.
