Coachman on the Bay

Coachman is an upper class establishment. It has a great atmosphere and the food is very good with reasonable portions, The waitresses are elegantly dressed in evening dresses. I was assisted by Bianca who was excellent.

A definite good choice when you’re in the area. Professional staff, delicious menu, and variety of wines to pair with the meals. They serve generous portions and every bite is simply delicious.

Beautifull place,with cozzy atmosphere. Food was fantastic,same as our waitress. Thnx Jessie,all recomended was spot on.Definitelly will come again if in Port Elizabeth!

Had been wanting to vist Coachman for a long time as looks good. Found it expensive for what is on offer altho menu is quite extensive. Enjoyed the scallop starter but smallest scallops I have ever seen. Steak was nothing out of the ordinary and pricey. Dessert was ok.

Down for a Business trip I came across the Coachman restaurant. Decided to go for dinner with a work colleague. Absolutely amazing service from the waiter Abri. Food was amazing as well. Had a medium rare rump steak with a blue cheese sauce recommended by the waitor. Definitely will revisit when back in PE. The rest of the waiters and management were also very friendly on entry and leaving.

The food is good, particularly the lamb shank, the waitresses there seem uninterested in service when it gets to evening time. The beers were not cold, the table was overcrowded with glasses and cutlery. The prices are reasonable which is a huge positive

Went here for dinner during a training trip to the Eastern Cape. Ordered starters mains and desert. Chicken livers were OK not spicy and the crumbed mushrooms. Steaks were brilliant and the blue cheese sauce delicious, however if there were Russians at our hotel I think I would have won a nuclear weapons tender because I have been farting since we left the place lol. Desert was nice. The waitress that served us, Angie, was brilliant. Worth a visit

Multiple nights during the week. The fillet steak for the local specials were very tender, but the rump was a bit chewy. Vegetables were tasty & chips were crisp. Sauces were somewhat disappointing though. The view of Algoa Bay & atmosphere were fantastic & the waiters very friendly.

The restaurant was packed on the evening we visited but we were lucky to get a table at the front of the restaurant with great views. Service was a little on the slow side but the excellent food made up for this minor irritation.

Been a customer for years and yet to have a bad meal. Had family out from the UK and a good steak is something they cannot afford to often.Well they were blown away by their meal. As always the service is excellent and the food simply outstanding.I could prattle on for ages but do yourself a favour and come and enjoy a great steak at the Coachman.
