“Cabin Fever StayCation”
A quick break to reboot in the pandemic, all protocols were in place, with very friendly staff always available to assist with any queries and suggestions. A special thank you to Annelice Fortuin the receptionist who mapped our excursions and helped securing reliable transport. All meals we tried at the restaurant exceeded our expectations. What this experience taught me is you don't need to venture to far to make new memories and being a tourist in your own city can still be fun.

“Wonderful”
We spent 2 nights at the Chapmans Peak Hotel and we had dinner at the Restaurant on both nights. Both dinners were wonderful. The restaurant interior has a lot of character with the well-worn wooden floors, walls and tables as well as the various photos on the walls attesting to many enjoyable meals and celebrations held in this space over the years. The service was quick, friendly and helpful. The food overall was excellent. There is an underlying Portuguese character particularly to the starters and the livers, the trinchado, the chorizo and the grilled calamari were all excellent. For mains we enjoyed tuna, hake, prawns, fried calamari, all done to perfection and very tasty. My personal highlight was the beetroot and butternut salad, which was delicious. Overall a great experience, great food, a great place to enjoy a memorable moment. Highly Recommended!

“Simply the best calamari in the Western Cape”
We found ourselves passing through Hout Bay en route back from Cape Town and as it was lunchtime we stopped off at the Chapman’s Peak hotel. We were the only guests on the non smoking deck and when the waitress arrived we waived away the menus and simply ordered the calamari and chips with small Greek salad and two glasses of Sauvignon blanc! It never fails to impress and we were not disappointed! Highly recommended!

“Great as usual”
We came for our calamari fix and everything was spot on. Not entirely sure about the covid precautions as these get a touch relaxed but otherwise it was the same old perfect spot.

“Don’t have their Summer Lunch”
Don’t have their Summer Lunch or your be disappointed.Calamari, Prawns and Line fish.So far so good.Until it arrives. The most expensive meal at R295 per plate gives you 4 overcooked indelicate prawns, kingklip tail ends from the freezer and service lacking when an eyebrow is raised.Been her over the last 30 years. The chef has left the kitchen. If you want a dull, tasteless ensemble, it’s available at a price.Calamari was good, as to be expected, for the rest, below par. I did raise my concerns, to be met with ‘ what would you like us to do?.Frankly not my place to dictate but rather to be on the receiving end of some more sympathetic caring gesture. It’s not the money, not the portion, so all we expect post COVID doom is a little effort and perhaps even, the coffee is on the house.

Food Service Ambience Value for Money
A most memorable evening greatly enjoyed with family at Chapman's Peak Hotel. The Seafood dishes were all superb and the friendly waiter took great care of us throughout the evening. The ambience was wonderful and we enjoyed the fireplace tremendously. Although this establishment doesn't usually take bookings on public holidays they made an exception as I was celebrating my birthday which was fabulous. We'll definitely be back to enjoy another celebration. Thanks for making my birthday special Chapman's Peak Hotel.
We had seafood platters and they were all great. Delicious Calamari, nice Hake, wonderful chips and prawns. Bombay Sapphire and Fitch and Leeds Tonic surprisingly inexpensive but the wine list was quite pricey. Great ambiance, two roaring fires and excellent service.
Hands down the best calamari I've had.. Ever! The setting on Saturday night was absolutely beautiful, the weather perfect, and the food spectacular! I ordered the calamari and prawn combo which was cooked to perfection, and although the portions are slightly small for the price you pay, it really was very good! The service was as great, and the fact that we were the last table there, without them hinting for us to leave made a huge impression. Thank you, we'll definitely be back!
Arrived at short notice and got a great outside table on a warm evening. Our waitress, Siphokazi was a delight. Friendly, attentive and efficient. Two of us had the Espetada and I had the Portuguese steak. This was tender fillet chunks in a mild spicy sauce. Really delicious. Chips were fresh and crisp as well. Slightly expensive but worth it.
A stunning view of the bay, great service and great food. What a pleasure.
