Café Paradiso

The Sweet Potato Gnocchi is to die for, try it, you won't regret it! Beautiful views, good food for the whole family.

My girlfriend and I met up with another couple on kloof street for lunch. We decided to try Cafe paradiso because of their outdoor seating courtyard. I ordered the truffle mushroom pizza which sounded amazing. It arrived after approximately an hour and a half. By this time I was really hungry and looking forward to the pizza. When it arrived I took the salt grinder and when I was putting salt on it I realized there was something moving on it. I was in such shock. I looked again and realized it was a snail moving on the pizza and maybe even eating some of it. I called the waiter and told him to take it away quickly before I would take a picture for trip advisor. The waiter was in even more shock than me. All the manager had to say was that “the rocket is fresh and was probably just not washed properly”. We all left immediately and weren’t hungry again for a few hours after this experience! Yes this can happen, but I would really have expected faster service and the manager to be a lot more apologetic and helpful.

Great patio out front from which to relax and enjoy your meal. I had the Eggs Benedict - Loved it! Great service from the staff and management. Enjoy!

Group of 5 arrived. Were seated outside. Waited on waiter to return to wipe the table and provide menu and take drinks order. Gave up after 10 minutes of no service, got up and left.

A cutie little spot with great service, the only problem I had is the food. The food is so expensive, yet so ugly. It’s so bad that I got extremely sick after eating there. I think their meat isn’t been stored well so the food i ate was contaminated. I’m extremely disappointed.

On our first evening in Cape Town we had dinner at Cafe Paradiso. The atmosphere was excellent and the service was always attentive and friendly. Also the food was of high quality. The Prawn Bisque Risotto is highly recommended and as dessert the Lemon Merinque is excellent.

Nice steak, burger and pizza restaurant, pleasant place, very nice staff, good value chosen because it was so close to our hotel.

Great place for a meal with kids. On busy Kloof street with good views of table mountain behind. We sat outside in a pretty courtyard area. Great for kids as relaxed and friendly plus as long as you sit down before 8 they can make their own pizzas, cupcakes and cookies. They take them off inside to do it while parents can relax at the table which is awesome. And only cost £3 per item! Good menu for adults too. Big portions and very reasonable prices.Would definitely recommend for families.

Visited Cafe Paradiso this evening after over 8 weeks in South Africa this is the worst restaurant we have encountered.1st - the food was ok but very bland certainly not great as we had in every other restaurant.2nd - the service was shocking we felt totally ignored. When I asked for the bill the maitre asked if we had a table booked!! When we paid the bill the waiter told us twice there was no service charge on the bill, why would we tip for such bad service.3rd - we could not get WiFi from the restaurant to book our Uber. It is not advisable to not walk after dark in Cape Town. The maitre was not interested in getting us back to our hotel safely.4th - we walked across the road to The Dark Horse bar who could not be more helpful to help us. We were not customers but the barman got us access to WiFi and made sure we got safely into a Uber. We were most grateful for his help.Very disappointed with our evening and with the attitude we received from Cafè Paradiso, will not be returning.
