Dear Faeqahk, I have had a chance to go through our CCTV footage of the night in question. We take an allegation like this very serious. Our manager requested you settle the bill before leaving outside for your smoke break as we have had numerous occasions where patrons simply leave without paying. (This was not meant as an insult to you, but simply a manager doing his job as requested by me so that we don't loose more income). Not one of our waiting staff or managers were physically involved in this unfortunate incident (As seen on the footage). Our bouncer tried to intervene but he stopped when he realised the situation was out of control. The traffic police arrived as well and most of the consequential argument occurred off premises. If you want to take this further we suggest you contact us directly. (info@cafe-extrablatt.co.za) We have legal council to assist us and hopefully we can resolve this matter amicably. We urge you not to continue with allegations online.

Emsthefoodie, I am sorry to see this. People come from far and wide for our handmade burger patties - that said, there are human hands behind our patties, not machines - so I can accept that your patty was not up to our usual standard. I apologise. The hake is fresh and was pan fried, once again - I will have a chat with the kitchen staff, it should not have been oily, but light and fluffy. So a second apology is due. I do however would love to know the name of the waiter that demanded a tip - that is unacceptable. I need to address this urgently. If you feel like having a chat, pop in and ask for Guido.
