“Vacation Lunch”

I had an amazing experience here and I would like to pass a special thanks to the very professional, Akohna, Matteo and Elaine that served us. They were all knowledgable, friendly and attentive. The food was expertly prepared, everything had a phenomenal taste. I can honestly say that my afternoon was not just a fun meal with friends but an experience which everyone should try at least once in their life.

“Best Tapas restaurant we have been since long”

“Great experience, would highly recommend it”

The perfect spot for a get together with friends, with plenty of space between tables, and the most spectacular outdoor seating area for those summer days.The menu had great variety and all dietary requirements were handled with ease.The staff are always so well presented, knowledgeable and friendly, every time I go there.Definitely is my go to place in the Southern Suburbs of Cape Town!

“One of the best Eggs Benedict!”

I loved my experience at Bistro Sixteen82! The service was impeccable, sincere and I felt taken care of and welcomed. This is rare. Thank you. My Eggs Benedict was one of the best I have had in the Mother City. Compliments to the Chef and kudos to the Steenberg Team who after a very challenging year have not dropped the ball. They are clearly masters in service excellence. I will return and bring my family and friends.

“Perfect birthday breakfast”

I visited Bistro 1682 for breakfast with friends to celebrate my birthday. Everything from the coffee to complimentary honey brioche was perfect. Service was great and I felt really special when the kitchen sent complimentary chocolate truffles to acknowledge my birthday celebration. Always a special place for a birthday or just a perfect meal.

“Amazing breakfast and service!”

We had a special breakfast at Bistro 1682 and wow what a restaurant! The food was was great, service was flawless and the setting is just beautiful (even on a cold day). Highly recommend for any occasion in the constantia region.

“DISAPPOINTED”

After a fantastic wine tasting we wanted to go for lunch into the bistro at Steenberg. They offered for a glas of Steenberg Rose RD 64,00 - to accompany the food. We told them that just on next table, at the wine tasting a bottle of the same wine would cost RD 86,00 but we've been told that as per management this is the case. So we left. We spend more than RD 680,00 for wine tasting and bought wine and than we had that bad experience. This is not correct form the management.

Dear Roland SThank you for taking the time to review our restaurant and wine tasting. We are so pleased that you had a wonderful time and at the Tasting room. I am sorry you never got to experience the wonderful food at Bistro 1682.Regarding our wine prices, we operate as a separate entity to Steenberg Vineyards Wine Estate and therefore pay the same prices for Steenberg wine as any other restaurant would do. We are very sensitive to the fact that we are situated adjacent to the tasting room and therefor keep our mark-up as small as possible, you will notice compared to other restaurants our wine prices are very reasonable. We do however have to add a minimal mark-up as we still need to run a profitable business. The price you have quoted of R86 is a special the tasting room is currently running, the normal prices retails for R105. We as a restaurant did not receive a special price for the stock we purchased therefore cannot sell at a reduced price.Regards Kerry KilpinKerry.kilpin@bistro1682.co.za

“New Years Lunch”

we had a New Years day lunch at the bistro. The venue is attached to the winery but due to the lock down rules no alcohol was served. This however was made up by the food served by the excellent staff. All covid protocols were enforced and followed by all patrons. The desert menu is really a winner and compliments to the staff once again - worth a visit, even if for the deserts.

“still one of our favorites”

This is the definition of fine dining! As someone that cannot decide on what they want to eat, a tapas menu usually works out better for me, so I can taste more than one thing. (it also means it's heavier on the pocket though). I tried their salt and pepper calamari, pork belly, croquettes and ended off with the yummiest dessert of banana creme brulee, with macaroons and honeycomb. Absolutely delicious
