Bellagio

Each time, I thoroughly enjoy my meal at Bellagio. The last time over a wintery weekend lunch I relished the Tuna Tartare and the Fish soup and the Tiramisu desert. The service and ambiance are always inviting and excellent. Meals are all well balanced and full fresh ingredients and a visit here is always a good choice.

Quite possibly the best restaurant in all of Johannesburg! Excellent food only topped by the superb service. I can’t wait to visit next time I am in Johannesburg.

We ate here because it is one of the favourite spots of our close friend in Johannesburg, who is a local. There is indoor and outdoor seating. The restaurant is very elegant and has an intimate ambiance.It has a wide range of dishes (salads, pastas, meat, seafood). This is not a pizza joint. The food was excellent and portion sizes are very generous. You have to try the orange soufflé. If you want a long, European style dining experience, they won’t rush you out, even if you are the last ones in the restaurant.

A bit expensive for what you get. Can’t compare to fishmonger next door for quality of food yet the price tag is extravagant.

My lovely wife and I went to Bellagio for a mid-week dinner and chose to be seated inside. The menu and specials are extensive, as is the wine list!My wife had very tasty chicken livers, cooked mild as requested, whilst I had a cheese, tomato and avocado salad.For mains I had the veal schnitzel with roasted artichokes and rocket mash which was delightful, while my wife had the beef and ginger stir fry which she loved.We skipped desert, but had coffee and a desert wine.Service was good.Good for a romantic dinner, but the ambient noise was fairly high given the restaurant was full.Well worth a visit!

Having been used to a better performance this was a disappointing experience. We were six people forSaturday lunch. The service was not what one would expect from a restaurant of this price bracket and if anything could be described as condescending. I ordered grilled kingklip fish for R250 at which price one would expect fresh fish but this was dry and had the hallmarks of being frozen. The other meals also looked quite average and not really worth the price tag.

Bellagio is an outstanding restaurant. Its perfect for a romantic dinner with your partner, or a business lunch with colleagues or clients, or even a weekend lunch with family. Somehow it seems capable of straddling all of these roles effortlessly. The food is truly outstanding with a menu that offers new and creative stuff as well as the usual tried and tested recipes. I can't recommend it more highly.Oh yes... try the oyster shooter for novelty value:)

Thank you Bellagio for the most delicious lunch. The prawn , coriander and chili stir fry was out if this world. Other guests had the grilled kingklip with lemon butter and the calamari - all reported delicious!

I’d seen the restuarant before, but it is a bit outside of the Sandton “inner circle”, so I have not visited before. Always looked like a coffee shop from the road. Wow, really nice atmosphere. Both I and the person I was with were a bit disappointed with the manner the food was prepared. He asked for medium rare salmon and it was medium well. The same with my steak. Having said that, the quality of the produce was first class. Really good quality meat and accompaniments. I would definitely go back to this restuarant. The prices were reasonable. Not cheap, but good value for what you get.

well situated in Illovo , You can enjoy a great variety of Dishes from Pasta to Seafood in a casual atmosphere .Very well priced and value for Money as the portions are very generous .
