Chef's Profile
Steve Kobrin, owner and executive chef for The Godfather Restaurant is a Johannesburg Hotel School graduate, with a family of hoteliers for three generations and has over 40 years of experience in restaurants and hotels.

Prior to owning The Godfather, Steve owned Chez Daniel Restaurant in Pretoria, managed Prime Cut, a very well known steakhouse, and then became a partner at The Brass Inn (in Pretoria West) where he was Chef & Manager.

His expertise and passion lies in the maturing & cutting of meat! Steve does the procuring, maturation and skilled cutting of all steaks. Meat is matured in house with the best procedures relating to the temperature & humidity of all fridges as well as the Dry Ager, where all the T-bones are aged. Most of the recipes were devised by Steve. The legendary basting and the sauces are all prepared in house, as are most of the desserts. Quality is always the prime objective.
