TJING TJING HOUSE, a renovated 200 year old heritage building, provides four distincly different venues and experiences offering exciting interpretations of Japanese food and culture.

On street level, TJING TJING TORII offers casual Japanese food from yokocho (street food alleys) in a space inspired by the multiple layers of old and modern Japan – a brightly coloured street-food joint with electrifying decor that encapsulates the youthful energy of Tokyo.

Torii trades Tuesday - Saturday from 10am to late on a first come, first served basis.

TJING TJING MOMIJI, a tranquil and meditative restaurant offers a more formal Japanese kaiseki dining experience. Momiji stays true to the formal structure and flow of the traditional Kaiseki menu, while embracing local and seasonal ingredients. A passion for modern Japanese culture and cuisine coupled with the chefs’ creativity and personalities result in a unique and playful menu unlike anything else in Cape Town.

Momiji trades Thursday - Saturday for dinner by reservation only. Please click here for reservations.

MOMIJI LOUNGE, adjacent to TJING TJING MOMIJI, is a 20-seater dark, moody and sophisticated lounge and bar with sunken booths and a long and low couch. Momiji Lounge offers an extensive and unique drinks list and otsumami (bar snacks).

Momiji Lounge trades Tuesday to Saturday from 5pm to late and space can be reserved via email

TJING TJING ROOFTOP BAR, trading since 2011, was voted one of the best bars worldwide by Conde Naste Traveler in 2012. Enveloped in wooden mansards, the old attic is an eclectic mix of new and old with a Japanese shrine-insprired red bar offset by a black and white Tokyo & Kyoto photo wall. The bar opens up to an airy outside rooftop terrace. Well-known for its current indie and electronic music, expect a selection of bespoke cocktails, spirits, wine and otsumami.

Tjing Tjing Rooftop Bar trades Tuesday to Saturday from 5pm to late on a first come, first served basis. Early group reservations can be made via email.
