Brazen Head is a successful chain of Irish-style pub restaurants, and while all of them follow a similar theme, no two are alike. The Brazen Head complies with the Irish Pub Concept (IPC) ideals, and as a result, even in a setting as non-Irish as the West Coast, stepping in through the Brazen Head’s door will transport one to the Emerald Isle immediately.

The restaurant’s interior is designed to evoke the feel of a traditional Irish pub, with a warm and cosy vibe, created by the dark wood furniture, faux bookshelves and a good solid bar counter. There are also exposed wine racks and various wall hangings depicting traditional Irish brands.

 

One of the things which adds to the Brazen Head’s authenticity, is its Irish menu which follows the Irish tradition of exceptionally fresh ingredients combined to create comfort food second to none! A quintessential menu item is the beef and Guinness pie, in which beef cubes and fresh vegetables are slow-cooked in delicious Guinness gravy and put into a yummy soft pastry. Other things to try are traditional bangers and mash as well as fish and chips.

 

To accompany your meal, or alternatively to give you a slightly less filling taste of Irish culture, the beers and whiskeys on offer come straight from the homeland. Beers such as Guinness and Kilkenny are available on tap, and you can also order yourself some whiskey – Tullamore Dew and Jameson’s are firm favourites.
