The Glen Carlou Restaurant opened in June 2007 in the heart of South Africa's Paarl Valley on the Glen Carlou Estate, offering the ideal setting with a panoramic view of the vineyards and mountain. The restaurant strives to be one of the top winelands restaurants offering only the freshest local produce to give their guests an unforgettable dining experience.
The Glen Carlou Restaurant offers a tempting selection of cuisine, with both ethnic and international flavours, that can be enjoyed under the high wooden beams of the tasting arena or outside on the terrace. The modern interior is African Sheek with a welcoming fireplace in the lounge area. Guests are treated by Chef with an Amuse Buse that is sent out before your meal to get the taste buds going. Each dish is paired with a Glen Carlou wine to create the perfect food and wine experience. The food is fresh and innovative with a classical French undertone which also bring local flavours to the table.
Some popular dishes include the Mixed Exotic Mushrooms, Buffalo Mozzarella and Fried Quaill Eggs for Starters, while the Pan-Seared Line Fish served with Saffron Butter Sauce, crispy Pancetta and Peas are a favourite for Dinner. Travelling from Cape Town along Travel along N1 highway, towards Paarl. Continue straight along this road, until you see a signboard on the left hand side, Exit 47 for R44 Klapmuts/Wellington/Stellenbosch. Take this turnoff and at the stop street, turn right. You will come to a 4-way stop, carry on straight and take the first turn to the left. You will see a signboard saying R45 Franschhoek. Travel for 3km along this road and you will find Glen Carlou on the right hand side.
