Die Damhuis is the oldest building in Melkbosstrand and used to be a private homestead next to a dam. The building has been declared a National Monument and has been restored to its former glory to accommodate a restaurant on the beach front.
Damhuis offers seafood and traditional cuisine in the perfect setting where you can enjoy views of Table Mountain and Robben Island. The Damhuis has a variety on offer. Pop in for a hearty breakfast or sample and create your own tapas platter. Die Damhuis has plenty of vegetarian options and seafood lovers will never go hungry!
Die Damhuis is a fun haven for children. With their own private beach, jungle gym and loads of toys littered around, our little patrons spend hours playing and making friends. We offer a special menu for children with yummy milkshakes. Die Damhuis has become a favourite among parents for
lazy weekend breakfasts and lunches. We look forward to welcoming your little ones.
Come and enjoy a cocktail while sitting on the beach, or some delcious food while sitting in the covered 'stoep', or step inside the old building and enjoy the history of one of the oldest buildings in Cape Town, with a cheeky Burlesque twist. Die Damhuis Bar is also a favourite for the locals for an after work drink.
