Culture Club was opened by the hands-on team of Darrol Price and Danae Savvas in March 2016 and is a welcome addition to the row of new restaurants in The Village (known by locals as the “Parktown of Pretoria”).

Both Darrol and Danae are veterans of the restaurant industry and had decided that the next shop they opened would be the type of place that they wanted to go to. They have both travelled a lot and with Danae being Greek, food was a big part of their lives. Tapas is a style of food and eating they enjoy due to its social nature and this appealed to them.

Culture Club is all about the perfect marriage of food, drink and conversation, combined to create a feast fit to share with friends or family. ‘Tapas’ is more than the simple act of eating – it’s an informal, fun and social way to enjoy good food and company. You get to tailor your meal by ordering a variety of tapas dishes that suit your likes and tastes and everyone gets to share the selection, you may even be a bit adventurous and try something different. They will encourage you to explore the flavours.

TAPAS is more a style of eating than strictly Spanish dishes. The menu combines mixed influences from the Mediterranean, Middle East, Asia and some great Local flavours too.

The team are continuously working on interesting seasonal dishes, whilst keeping your favourites current and delicious. They take great pride in serving only the best quality, freshest ingredients and no effort is spared in ensuring that the love and passion that goes into their food is worthy of the dish – so that every plate is something they are proud to serve.

The menu has an interesting selection of dishes. A great way to start- share a glass of wine and a chat with a nibble like the Chorizo Pesto Lollipops. The Rump Chimichurri is great to share but makes a perfect meal for one too. They have the softest herb crusted fish Goujons and Panko crumbed chicken strips. And then there’s the THAI GRILLED SQUID – it’s an Asian inspired calamari dish and they’ve even had customers drink the sauce with a straw!

Darrol and Danae have created a beautiful space with a relaxed yet vibey ambiance and they welcome you to embrace this charming style of EAT.SHARE.LIVE with them. Whether it’s a quick work drink , a long overdue catch up with a friend or a 5 hour family feast, this setting is the perfect place . They want people to feel comfortable enough that they relax and enjoy each other’s company and create memories, after all isn’t that what life is about?
