In 1994, Brasserie de Paris was established in the old Hatfield Bakery on Duncan Street, Pretoria. Sarie Jooste Jordaan moved the restaurant to the Karl Jooste House at 381 Aries Street when she restructured the restaurant.
The aim has always been to provide high quality French based fine dining in a unique physical context. Our cuisine is and will always be based on the French tradition.
Over the years, the restaurant won numerous fine dining and wine awards. Ané Wait is Head Chef at Brasserie de Paris and Sarie Jooste Jordaan, the Managing Director.
Main course recommendations at Brasserie de Paris include a Trio of Beef Fillet - Fillet au Poivre, Bonemarrow Fillet, Béarnaise Fillet, Pommes Frites, and Cognac Sauce, and the Basil Crusted Lamb Loin with Pommes Fondant, Pea Purée, Mange Tout and Wild Mushrooms.
Brasserie desserts are our pride and joy and we regularly introduce new and exciting flavours, textures and combinations in which creativity is celebrated. Valrhona Chocolate Fondant with White Chocolate Sorbet and Honeycomb or have the Vanilla Cheesecake with Coconut Crumble, Pineapple Sorbet, Pineapple Fizz and Banana Chip.
If you would like to do things the French way, we suggest trying our Cheese Plate (which consists of both local and imported cheeses, preserves, dried & fresh fruit and nut bread) with a glass of port before your dessert.
From Pretoria CBD take the R21 South. At Monument Park take the Elephant Road turnoff to the left, continue untill you reach the M9, turn left here into Rigel Avenue. At the second turnoff turn right into Aries Road, we are about 1,2km in on your right hand side.
