Zibaldone Italian Restaurant

This has got to be the the best'' casual'' fine dinning Italian restaurant ! The ambiance and decor allows for an engaging meal with friends. The menu caters for all tastes and the meals are freshly prepared. I have tried many different meals, as this is my go to place...

When I recently read that Zibaldone is better than A Tavola, we had to venture out beyond the borders of the southern suburbs to test it for ourselves. On arriving in the parking area we were a bit confused how to get to the restaurant area, but the security guards were super helpful in directing us. We had an early booking so the restaurant was quiet, but when we left 2 hours later there was a good and happy vibe in the place. Everything we ordered was great - tasty, perfectly prepared and living up to all the excellent reviews patrons are leaving. The menu is typical Italian and guests are spoilt for choice - from pizza, to pasta to meat and vegetarian dishes. The service was quick and friendly and our waitress was engaging and helpful. I specifically asked about the carbonara as I was yet to find a fair (let alone good one) in Cape Town. Her description of it was spot on and It was perfect! We had the focaccia as a starter, 2 raviolis, lamb tortellini, carbonara, tiramisu, pana cotta and 2 dom pedros with a bottle of wine. The final bill was more than reasonable. We will definitely be back for more of the same - or until I find another Carbonara that can top this one!

Obviously was quiet for a week day. Not sure how it is during the weekend or evenings. Noting it's surrounded by apartments right around may be noisy during evenings and weekends. We sat outside so could over look the water. The ambiance was surprisingly pleasant. Had the prawn and asparagus risotto. Tasted delicious....the portion was just enough to make you ask for more although for a prawn risotto the prawns were a tad absent so was the asparagus. For the price one would expect more of these. But overall a most enjoyable experience. Will visit during the weekend and evening and will compare the ambiance.

This is an excellent Italian ristorante.Fresh food, well prepared with the best Italian recipes! The owners and the staff are friendly and efficient. The pastas are hand made and always good. My favourites are; the beef fillet and the prawns. All with a good Italian wine menu.

Valentine’s dinner 2020. We eat at Zibaldone regularly and tonight was once again awesome. It is an unpretentious eatery that consistently serves excellent Italian food with staple South African choices on the menu as well. Tonight we shared the fig and parma ham starter. It was delicious and the portion was substantial. For mains we had the Veal and Gnocchi aa well as the Pork Belly and mash. The veal and gnocchi was fantastic, rich. The pork belly was fell apart under the knife and though it did not have the usual crackling, the meat was hampion enough to stand on it own. Desert was our usual Pannacotta and Belgian dark chocolate Fondant. And as usual it was fantastic.Service is swift the staff super friendly but not overbearing.

The service and food is simply superb.This was our first visit and we'll back as soon as possible...

Went to Zibaldone for our anniversary. Everything about the meal was perfect. Had an asparagus starter that was perfect end filled pasta with a delectable lamb filling. My husband had the Osso Bucco. Was just as good. Their waiters is the best and their owners love spending time with their customers and make everything extra special.

I visited Zibaldone on a Friday evening when staying near the Cape Town International Airport. I decided to drive over, because I had had a nice time here before. I was not disappointed! I had mussels as a starter and veal saltimbocca as a main. The food was delicious. Very much recommended for travellers staying in or close to Bellville.
