Villa Bianca

The service was excellent and the food even better.Their signature sushi was amazing. I highly recommend the Villa Bianca Sushi Platter as an opener for the table.The ambiance is fantastic and even if it is a little pricey, the quality is worth the price.The best eating experience in Edenvale. And I’ve lived here for 21 years and eaten at every restaurant in The Vale.

I went to Villa Bianca in Edenvale for a late lunch. The number of complaints are almost too numerous to count.The waiter was never around to take our order, to check if everything was alright and ultimately to give us our bill. Upon arrival, no bread basket was served and when the time arrived to take food orders, no specials were presented (Both of the aforementioned things were presented with great gusto to three other surrounding tables by at least two waiters per table).I ordered their "famous" chili chocolate steak and it was SO incredibly insipid. the meat was dry (despite ordering medium) and had absolutely no flavour except for a sauce that contained neither chocolate nor chili.My first companion ordered a rump, which contained NO flavour (not even salt or pepper were used). He also ordered sushi. The sushi was DRY and the amount of salmon given was minuscule to say the least.My second companion ordered lamb and again, aside from it being very soft (which was great), it was flavourless. The bill for three came to almost R1000 for what can only be described as a ridiculously disappointing experience, from food to service.To add insult to injury, two put of the three of us got food-poisoning!!!I do NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYONE.

I reviewed this place after my first visit under heading "Best Sushi in Town!"After this review i visited twice and on both occasions the food was good but service bad!Yesterday was a disaster! We arrived at 4pm and the restaurant was much quieter than during my prior visits. (I thought it was a good sign)There was nobody at reception to greet us and the bathroom wasn't clean and had no paper towels.We waited 20 to 30 minutes for every dish and inevitably lost our apatite during the wait! My first dish had an element missing and the plating wasn't as good what i got used too.When we complained about waiting too long for our food, a very assertive, almost aggressive manageress arrived at the table telling us that we haven't been waiting THAT long and because of the amount of elements used in the sushi it HAS to take a very long time to serve the food!Her attitude did not help at all!We cancelled our last plate order and left very disappointed!If I was the owner or manager of this restaurant,I would ramp up service, and get the sushi chef an assistant in order to get plates out in reasonable time..... Unless the idea is to get guests to leave because of the waiting timeand make more money by serving less food!???

My favourite high end Sushi restaurant!I loved the Springbok carpaccio, Rock shrimp and other unusual varieties of sushi!Sadly the service was not as great as the food!

Fancy environment and a nice different menu.Friendly staff with good knowledge on menu. Food was nice.Great about toilet that had tissue for opening the door. Something very important regarding hygiene that many public places miss.

We ordered a sushi platter to be delivered 2.5km from VB. It took 80mn yo get to us. One of the 4 guests left without eating because the food took so long. We immediacy mentioned that we would not pay for such delay as it’s happened before. We thought that giving it another chance was just fair.Just called Arthur@VB and after being told we could be considered as thiefs and the issue taken further (whatever that means but assume legal action...) and that the calls have been recorded and the fact we could get sushi’s somewhere else, we suggested to pay 50%. Arthur was upset and agitated over the phone and was under the impression we were forcing the payment terms when it was a mere suggestion. His repsjnse was 75% to be paid by eft, no apologies. ZipIt was the last time we ordered from VB despite being told by many people that it had gone down but I rather want to see for myself.

Waiter non existent, food arrives at different times, had to ask for cutlery when my dish finally arrived. Forgotten requests, wrong servings. At an average of R400 per head I expected better. A string of issues. Wont see me again.

Wow So unexpected Excellent food and service by all staff All food for our party of 6 was fantastic with the extra touch of finishing off cooking a few dishes at the table Highly recommended

Returned after six year hiatus following a wait of over an hour to be seated having booked a few days in advance.Booking and seating was smooth. The ambiance is a little noisy but not unbearable. Server was efficient but his supervision lost a star after interrupting him on three occasions when I was about to place an order. The lady announcing the specials was good but a little difficult to understand. We ordered three courses each. Five were great, visually appetizing and served as required. A let down was the Haloumi Cherry, the haloumi a little soggy, could be better if it was grilled. Courses are a little expensive but not unexpected.It was a great evening and I will gladly return a lot sooner than after the previous experience.

We went to Villa Bianca for the pensioners lunch on Sunday. My first impression was good. The tables were laid with table cloths and linen serviettes, and the cutlery was clean. We helped ourselves from the buffet counter, where there was a choice of prawns, ox tail, lamb, curried crocodile, roast pork and roast beef. Everything was well presented on the long buffet table. The prawns were tasty, and so was the ox tail. However, I found the curried crocodile rather tasteless, and the lamb was very dry. The music was pleasant and soothing, without being over-bearingly loud. Generally the ambiance couldn't be faulted. The two things that I found disappointing were firstly, the plates were not hot, and secondly, the prices of drinks were absolutely exorbitant. All in all, we had a pleasant time.
