Under the Trees

Had the most divine asparagus quiche @Under the trees today. Light, fluffy & wrapped in Phyllo pastry.

We went for lunch on a Sunday. The whole environment with the nursery and restaurant is beautiful and one feels like one is not in a bit city at all. Lovely, interesting, arty features, water, green and clean. We sat outside under a big umbrella but sadly for me, I was in just the little bit of space that caught the 32degr sun and they could not move us. I recommend booking in the higher part of the restaurant which looked cooler. Protocols mainly in place although on the higher level, people looked much closer together. Staff good, food lovely except a very dry Apple crumble and it was a super experience which I would do again for sure.

This place is truelly a hidden gem. The place is great. The food even better and the environment worth every cent sent there.I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a relaxed afternoon

Twice a year I meet old friends here. The venue is slightly hidden, but the food is excellent and the surroundings perfect for catching up on news. The eatery is attached to a nursery--great to see the plants. I also love the bookshop and the store selling bric n brac and collectables.

Today we popped into the nursery. A client is having her wedding there soon. l have often driven past but never ventured in. well well. what a surprise, what delightful setting, I ordered coffee and carrot cake, will not tell you more, except please go and visit and order. i will certain be back to try the burger and then again to try the pizza. Mom and had Pre Mother’s Day lunch ... we shared a pizza and baked cheese cake plus some very refreshing Devil Peak’s drafts which happened to be on special! It was all too perfect ! Thank you ??

We had chicken pie and Buddha salad bowl were delicious and the cheesecake is tops! Service v friendly and quick

A lovely setting that feels far away from the city bustle. And excellent food. I seldom visit Joburg without savouring the cheesecake at Schafflers - it's as good as your mother's, if not better! If you're based in the northern suburbs, it's a good place to stop to or from the airport.

A big thank you to Christine, Vincent and team for another outstanding breakfast! I love the hospitality, quality of food and friendly service. My favourite breakfast spot in Jozi.

Not our first visit. The coffee was good. The setting and ambience is excellent. The staff / waitrons were friendly, professional and courteous. Our only negative comment is that the "scones" ordered were actually more like a small cake or muffin and not particularly enjoyable. However we will certainly visit again.
