Turn 'n Tender - Loftus Park

Close to the hotel I was staying in so after a hard day in the office, went here as it was a minutes walk away. It’s a nice restaurant and always has customers. I was seated quickly and there is plenty wait staff standing around...to take care of your needs. However all I wanted to eat was two starters and no main meal so the wait lady looked at me and said, is that it..... she was not pleased I was not ordering a main meal. I had the calamari and chorizo starter and it was pretty good. Calamari tubes and cubed chorizo with a bit of spice, but there was a bit too much oil. Not sure if the oil was from the cooking or drained from the chorizo though, but it tasted okay. I also had the marrow bones. Not had them in a couple of years so was really looking forward to them. However they came undercooked and some were cold in the middle. I know they are not supposed to be piping hot, but they are supposed to be hot. A bit disappointed but the calamari and chorizo was okay. I am sure you could get a good meal here and cheap. Will try again in the future.More

Being a vegetarian in Pretoria can be risky Turning away from meat at a restaurant catering to the citadel of rugby is downright problematic. The service was friendly but the waiter was nonplussed when I asked: Is this it? On the plate was a veg...patty and a dozen french fries. "I suppose so," he responded when I asked if a R150 veg hamburger should not also have a bun. Score zero for value for money.More

We watched the Springboks against Italy at the Rugby World on the big screen at Loftus Park. We ordered sliced biltong and focaccia with cheese as a starter. The sliced biltong was dry and clearly stored in a fridge for quite some time. The melted...cheese on the focaccia was not fresh at all. I pointed this out to the manager who immediately apologized. To my horror the same dry slices were served to the patrons next to us. It was clear that my feedback was simply ignored. I once again got hold of the manager and this time he understood my feedback. The manager returned some while later with freshly sliced biltong and a garlic focaccia. The point is that this should never have happened in a restaurant that forms part of a chain known for its quality dishes. Every dish served, no matter how small, forms part of building brand reputation.More

Food is good and cheap (by UK standards). Good service. We tried biltong here and the jury is out I think.

We were in Pretoria and looking for a good steak house to have a graduation dinner celebration . Well, did we find it!!!!! We decided on Turn n Tender -Loftus as it was recommended. The Centre has lots of parking and is lovely. The restaurant...is spacious and classy and well designed. It has a wonderful vibe. The service!!! Incredible. Every single staff member is friendly and knowledgeable and attentive. (I was not well and the staff made sure I had paper serviettes for my streaming eyes and nose. They also made me hot water with lemon and mint to sip on. I didn’t ask - they just obliged!). Their hospitality and service was top notch. Everybody helping to serve drinks and meals on time. This is a first where I have encountered such great teamwork. The staff must be commended and the manager was wonderful The food! On my goodness! From focaccia to calamari, chicken livers, marrow bones all starters -each dish was perfect. The mains were a mix of fish, t-bones, steak and chicken. Again - incredible. Each dish was perfect! Perfectly cooked to order, perfectly spiced and flavored. The portions are large and each morsel is scrumptious. I love steak houses and tend to stick to my regular tried and tested ones as I have been disappointed in the past, but let me tell you - Turn n Tender Loftus is the BEST Steal House in the country I have encountered. A huge congratulations to this restaurant. Excellence all around and my favourite restaurant from now on. Bravo!!!!!More

We at at Turn n Tender while staying at the Protea hotel next door. My wife had steak, but I chose the oxtail stew one night and the lamb stew another night - both were very tasty, but eating off the bone is messy -...they provide lots of napkins and wipes.Service was good and helpful.More

Good for those who love meat... The portions are huge. The manager is very friendly and knows her regular customers

We went to this Turn 'n Tender Restaurant after a rugby match a few weeks ago. I returned with family and was once again pleasantly surprised by the quality of this family owned restaurant chain. The meats are excellent and complimented by a very wide,...well selected wine list with extremely reasonable prices. The very attentive staff will ensure that you will have a very good dining experience.More

This is a franchise restaurant that is well know for excellent steak dishes. The starter we had, was the oxtail soup. This was very disappointing. I am sure it is prepared from ready made soup in packs and reduced to look like it is thick...and tasty. I had only a tiny bone and no meat or vegetables. The steaks are top of the pick, but this starter spoiled it all. Prices are good and the location in the developing sport and business area of Loftus Versfeld Rugby stadium is ideal.More

Food was good and the service was excellent. The staff even offered me a small blanket when it got chilly while sitting outside for dinner. Definitely recommend this restaurant. If you are looking for a nice intimate dinner, rather eat inside on a weekend as...there is noise from the Mexican Restaurant across.More
