Thyme@Royal Palm

Enjoyed the food (oxtail, ribs, steak). Good presentation when delivered to room, food arrives hot and ready to eat.

I first visited this hotel and restaurant when it first opened a while back and thought it was just fantastic when Chef Monroe was at the kitchens helm. He seems to have left now and it shows. I ordered a beef fillet but got a T-Bone steak instead and while it was tasty (I was in a bit of rush so kept the dish) it was not what i wanted. Despite being only 2 tables in the restaurant at the time (myself and another table of 6) the lone server on duty seemed to be struggling to cope. I had to collect my own menu when one was not forth coming. The decor is much the same as it was and quite pleasant though i found it odd and out of the place the use of "take away" style paper salt and pepper sachets and sugar sachets. Feeling somewhat disappointed i opted not to have desserts. A pity.

Absolutely delicious food! Great place to go when you want to spoil yourself or a loved one. Staff were friendly. The atmosphere was perfect we actually lost track of time, it was really romantic.

We stayed at the Royal Palm hotel for 7nights, and every morning we had breakfast in the Fish Restaurant. The restaurant has great features and very modern, how ever the good quality and service was not that great. There is no consistency, everything is so slow and managers are there just as figures. We ordered room service and and the chicken pasta was so revolting! One staff member in particular made us felt welcome every morning besides all the odds, if you plan to visit the restaurant, make sure that you look for Nokwazi to serve you, she is amazing and polite and very helpful. I would not visit the restaurant or the hotel again.

Small menu but good meals experienced. Lamp shank and steak meals were plentiful and tasty. Good breakfast selection. Good in-house hotel restaurant.

Well siruated near the Gateway Shopping centre, serving Great food with a great atmosphere. Very reasonable prices great service by pleasent staff.

I'm staying at the royal palm but I can't even eat in the hotel restaurant I went there for breakfast my waiter had no smile were I was sitting the floor was dirty and I found hair in my eggs I'm sorry that's not cool

Visited dish and the food was good. Looked and tasted good. However I was very dissapointed with the staff. They seemed to not care that customers were around and behaved very unprofessionally. They had loud personal conversations and I once requested something and soon after it was delivered I heard the chefs in the kitchen talk about it and laugh (not sure why). The only professional person was a waitron by the name of Zack. He was professional and assisted when needed.

Lovely venue which is linked to the Royal Palm Hotel, varied menu, check for specials. Extensive wine list. Attentive staff.

its in uMhlanga, at Palm Boulavaude accross Gateway!!! is such a stunning little bistro style restaurant, with great food, presentation is on point! and then... the food itself is mouth wateringly, suculant!!! you will love it... i did!!!
