The Verandah Bistro

We popped in when there was loadshedding. Had the most delicious cake, baklava cheesecake. Something so different and good. Our waiter Ashley was also so helpful. Thanks!

Nice place, inside and outside. The food was quite tasty (we had breakfast/brunch), but the waiter we had was not very attentive and we had to keep on looking or asking for him or anybody willing to serve us (for more coffee because we were dying of thirst later on). Food and drinks take quite a long time if the place is busy.

Went to Verandah Bistro with a friend for a light meal and was pleasantly surprised. Nice outside area, food was good and very reasonably priced. The service was very friendly and prompt and all in all it was a good experience. Worth trying and I will be back to try other items on their menu.

Menu had great choices, lovely atmosphere and food was good. Lovely venue to have family and friends year-ends. Intimate atmosphere.

Excellent service, the best coffee in town (if you like strong coffee like I do), tasty, fresh food. Lovely atmosphere. The only coffee shop I visit on a regular basis. What is even better is the fact that they have a special menu for pensioners on Tuesdays! Excellent value for pensioners so I always go there on Tuesdays. Baklava is to die for! Very few restaurants have specials for pensioners. So thank you Veranda, that is one of the reasons you are my favourite!

My mother is not mobile and is in a wheel chair when we go out.This place is not wheel chair or stroller friendly at all. We no longer go there.However, the food is reasonable and staff are friendly.

The restaurant has a pleasant setting in an old house, on the corner of a tree lined suburban street, a short distance from the Main Road. Parking was easy and safe although in and off the street. Main street noise was not noticeableWe sat on the eponymous verandah in the shade of a tree and umbrellas. The menu was limited, which I consider a sign of a good kitchen. Service was friendly, concerned and competent.I had well cooked pork chops, tasty enough but a strange cut of meat, on a bone but not resembling any pork chop I have had previously. Nevertheless, entirely eatable with some decently cooked vegetables and mashed potatoe. My only gripe was that the meat was covered with a dark sauce, this should have been served on the side for garnishing at my own pleasure.My wife had two starters - spanakopita and fried haloumi in lieu of the other lunch options - both were well prepared and worthy of compliments.In sum, a satisfactory lunch, which is worth a good 4 star rating.

Great food and good service, nice surroundings, this place gives a great feeling of home cooking but in style.

A tranquil setting on the veranda, inside or in the garden. The food was great and well priced. The staff were helpful and ready to help you when you get there. We would recommend it for your next meal.
