The Restaurant at Grande Provence

What a disappointment! I had heard nothing but great reviews about the Grand Provence Estate Restaurant, however, I can quite easily say this was one of the worse meals I have ever had! We had booked for 22 people and not one of us was happy with our food and on top of that the service was shocking. I will not be going back and will definitely not be recommending this restaurant .

Why can’t I eat food when I visit you when I’m on the wine tram. Why does it take 15 minutes before we can order something and then it takes another 10 minutes before we get our drinks. Then the one waiter gives us a menu and the other tells us we can’t order food. We spend 1400 rand just on wine tastings and oysters and then we can’t have anything else?? This place is all about making money and forgot about hospitality towards their guests. Good luck franschhoek. You sold yourself to the devil!

No really,understand exactly why they are in this position,decor very nice,but food ????????????we had to send the duck back!!!!!! Tough not nice,Chef you are missing the point!!!!!!!Lamb,sirloin,only average,desert OK,service OK,Your deli is 10 times better than you.Wine pairing below average,understand exactly why we were the only people in the main restaurant Will we be back,Definitely not sorry!!!

We did a wine tasting and have found most of the wines to be very enjoyable. Our favorite, however, is the Cabernet Sauvignon which has notes of eucalyptus - such a special wine! The atmosphere of this place is amazing and the sommelier was super friendly and very knowledgeable about the wines. One of our most favorite winery experiences.

The food is incredible ? fixed menu, each dish complimented each other, mouthwatering and delicious. Looking forward to going back.

Went for a wine tasting and took the prime tasting at 140R per person. This is already much higher than others we did in the region so our expectations were also higher. We had three whites and three reds. The wines were mostly not to our liking but I understand this is very subjective. Our waiter/sommelier was very nice and knowledgeable. However we found that the quantity served was also much less than elsewhere and he served us the reds in the same glasses used for the whites which we found not very professional. So a very average experience for us, we paid more for less wines and the quality was not there to justify it. Won’t recommend the tastings there.

The accommodation was satisfactory. The host Wellington was very pleasant and welcoming.Restuarant- I dont ever write bad reviews but I was completely put off by worms that I found swimming in my eggs benedict. It was absolutely terrible. The waiter brushed the event off as if it was nothing.

Summer eating doesn't get better than lunch in the Restaurant. The food is satisfying and matches the artwork for colour and character. Alex deserves all the praise he properly gets. This a first world experience.

Our minds (and taste buds!!!) are blown!! We are so grateful for the amazing service, and spectacular food!! We had to ask for another round of deserts.....
