The Restaurant @ Clos Malverne

Had lunch at this superb restaurant that is high up a hill with exquisite views of the mountain range - This is a fine dining restaurant that offers some on the house items on special occasions - The menu is extensive and the wine list extremely affordable, when considering that this is an ultra modern venue - The service from staff are attentive, despite the restaurant being extremely busy on Father's Day - I would highly recommend this restaurant that sits just outside the town.

We visited for a "celebratory lunch". Everything was excellent, location, ambiance, service, food and value for money.

Guys,we came back today,but something happened,you can't serve a R50 lambshank and charge R250 for it,no wine on the menu........ Sent red wine back first time ever ???we were not impressed.Very disappointed,very mediocre.Not sure if we'll be back.

Highly recommend the wine tasting - stunning view and wonderful selection and some very special wines, the Elly was particularly enjoyable. Amy was very knowledgeable and welcoming. Cannot wait to return again soon. Wish we had found this place sooner!

We have never been to Clos Malverne but after this experience, we will definitely be back. The menu is not big but there is something for everyone. Our party had the Miso Grilled Aubergine and then Grilled Beef Fillet that was done to perfection and served with tasty “homemade chips”. My highlight was the Seafood Pasta, most probably one of the best Seafood Pastas I have ever had. I was a bit concerned about the creamed tomato sauce being too strong, but it was a perfect balance with the Tagliatelle, Prawns, Calamari (perfect texture by the way) and Mussels. Excellent wines, too. Starting off with a glass of Clos Malverne Brut Reserve was a treat, followed by rosé and finishing off with their Clos Malverne Honeydew after the desserts. What more can you ask for in a delicious lunch? Service excellent, discreet but attentive. We booked a while ago, so were lucky to have the front row table featured on the website, what a view. It is important to arrive hungry, so you can enjoy all the different dishes. Don’t forget to try the freshly baked bread with lemon-flavoured butter, a dish in itself. We will be back as soon as possible to try some of the other items on the menu.

Absolutely divine! Kudzo was our amazing waitress and she was on it with the wine. Our food was delicious. Special mention to the person who made the chips - both Jeannette and I loved them.I really enjoyed the comfy chairs - some restaurants have very strange chairs... these were perfect.The only sad thing was that the tastings ate all the ice cream and we couldn’t have any. But the cheesecake made up for it. The poppyseed in the crust was brilliant.Gorgeous view, lovely wine, perfect day.

We came to Clos Malverne as part of our bike ride taking us to different estates in the Devon Valley. You immediately figure this is a place with history. The view was fantastic despite cloudy weather. We had amazing food and service. The Chef came at the end of the service to have a chat with every table.

This must be our favourite lunch venue in the area, we have been coming for several years and this time, as previously, managed two days in the week to enjoy the sumptous and innovative good value pairing lunch menu.There are four options for each of four courses, each accompanied by excellent CM wines. We were spoilt for choice, so a good job we did return a few days later!Highlights were the roasted carrots, the lamb, the seabass, the springbok and ALL the desserts!The staff are delightful, knowledgeable, professional and nothing is too much trouble. The views from the veranda are amazing.On another day we popped in to wallow in the ice cream and wine pairing, innovative and delicious. Really unusual combinations perfectly matched with the excellent wines.When Normal Times resume, we will be back!
