The food is okay, but location is great if you can get a table in the sun. Tried lots of things but bobote spring roll is the only thing I can recommend.

“A perfect resting place whilst walking Cape Town”
This cafe cum restaurant is situated within Company Gardens and is ideal for a break. Lite lunches include Cape Malay chicken curry(which wasnt so good} and Bobotie spring rolls(which were very tasty)Worth a stop.

“Great setting.. slow service, underwhelming and expensive”
The restaurant setting is perfect, with space for the kids to run and play. The food is completely overpriced, small portions and underwhelming.Staff and service are slow. Had to go find a waitron to come serve us... and we weren’t the only table that had to do this..Such a pity

Service
“Good idea but a few things worth knowing”
Went for lunch. 30 minutes after being seated no one came to take any order. We went with small kids and we were not comfortable letting them play in play area. A few odd characters around and certain places in the play area smelled of urine.

“Go for the setting, not for the food :(”
While the Company's Garden is really scenic, the restaurant itself let us down with poor food delivery - despite a pretty good menu and well decorated interior, as you'd expect from the Madame Zingara group. The handful of ravioli pockets that we received were dry and chewy, the sandwhich lacked any kind of flair and the vegan buddah bowl was also disappointingly bland. However it is dog friendly, and being surrounded by nature is worth a visit (just don't expect much from the kitchen).

“Delicious and Beautiful Scenery!”
A delicious experience, made even better by friendly staff and the beautiful scenery of the Gardens. I would highly suggest a visit! We came for breakfast several times, and found the menu to be great, the food yummy, and the coffee was some of my favorite in SA.

“Hit & Miss”
Visited on a delightful Saturday brunchime. We were seated by a delightful waitress who treated us as "her own" really looked after usCoffees arrived, very good quality but my, the cups are tiny. The missus had been raving about the carrot cake served here and the waitress agreed with her choice. Within a minute the waitress returned and recommend that she rather opt for the freshly baked scones, She did and was hugely impressed..carrot cake will have to waitI order the scrambled egg and pan fried baby tomatoes with a choice of toast. The eggs we adequate but i've yet to be served a "great" scrambled eggs at a restaurant. The baby tomatoes were a major disappointment. Such a nice idea but they tasted like they had been cooked in " tired" oil ( as opposed to old oil) greasy and rather unpleasant, i was not offered a choice of toast but the slice i was served was excellent.A bit of banter with the lovely waitress, watching the world go by, kids playing, sqirrels and a rather obese rat ( NO reflection upon the restaurant i must add) scurrying about..Time to pay, my wife had retired to the restroom when the bill arrived ( a reasonable R151) and the waitress found it hard to believe that the lady was paying and genuinely thought i was joking...not a complaint, in fact rather amusing. Will return in the future even if its just for the vibe despite the minor hassles ( having to ask then wait a while for condiments) and perhaps i'll supply my own coffee mug.A strong 3***

“Kids Loved Strolling Through and Feeding Squirrels”
My kids absolutely loved the Comany's Gardens. It is free activity to stroll through and see the beautiful gardens. At the entrance, you can purchase a bag of peanuts. My kids loved hand feeding the squirrels. We visited the gardens several times during our Cape Town trip because the kids loved it so much. The downside to the gardens is there are quite a few homeless people laying on benches or in the grass. There are also rats everywhere in the bushes. I would only visit in daylight hours.

“Delightful”
We were delighted with our lunch at The Company’s Garden. The service was great. The seating flexible. We started outside but there were to many pigeons. My daughter couldn’t wait for dessert since her seat faced the delightfully delicious sweets display. My cream and pesto pasta with pollo and mushrooms was delicious. My daughter enjoyed her chicken curry. They have an extensive wine by the glass offering. I tried the pinotage and white Pinot noir. My daughter had tea and the lemon meringue. If you are looking to be delighted by the setting and the food eat here.

“Cafe under the trees”
We had a walk through the company gardens and stopped for tea. A lovely setting under the trees, with loads of squirrels and ducks and birds around. Food is so so. Setting is great. Great selection of tea.
