Spuds on McLane

From outside it looks like a popular steakhouse with attractive terrace. However my wife and I had an intimate meal indoors that was excellently served by a very attentive waitress. Top marks for starters, mains and deserts.

What turned out to be an 'on-the-spur-of-the-moment' decision, became a really great brunch. The portions and service were very good. Admitting to have given the incorrect tea to my wife, it was happily replaced with the correct version.The wrap and basket were great!

Lovely food except they got our orders wrong on both occasions. We ordered Hawaiian Pizza and it came with banana instead of pineapple.

Nice when you can have a dinner, sit at the bar counter and have a good chat while you there.Friendly staff, well priced, and good food.Worth a visit.

We ate there on two occasions and were impressed by the general 'feel' of the place and the good service. They have a Pub area, a dining area and an outside area with a wood fired Pizza oven. Food was good and inexpensive by City standards. Lamb curry was enjoyable but one of the peri-peri liver starters was a let down as it had a curry base. We had only one gripe and that was because the Pub area [which I favoured] allowed smoking. I queried this but it appears that smoking is condoned by management.

Good experience, good food and a kind waitress! We enjoyed the lamb curry and prawn curry a lot. Drinks and food are priced suitably.

Recently we were down the South Coast KZN, which was a wet weekend. We took a drive to Port Edward and stumbled upon Spuds. What a delightful place. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The portions were extremely generous. They allowed my husband and I to share an order. The food was excellent. My daughter and her fiance had curry bunnies and advised that the curries were superb. The biggest surprise came when we received the bill. To feed 4 people and have drinks that bill with tip was R350,00. We also saw on the notice board outside that there was 20% discount to pensioners for the whole day. We all agreed that when we are in the area again that we will visit.
