“Disappointing lunch”
A disappointing experience after having had good meals there before. Booked for 2pm but kitchen closes at 2.30pm. Felt we should have been told on booking. Rushed us for the order. Twice had to ask for our wine. After our meal we wanted to order coffee but where told that the Chef had left but maybe they could help.. really a chef needed? Anyway we got a cold cappuccino. One would think in these tough times the staff would make an effort. Food was acceptable but experience disappointing.

Dear MBurgess1,We have read your recent review of our restaurant with attention and wish to respond in faith. It would be helpful to know your date of attendance as you say you visited in June and it is now almost the end of July so a challenge to pin point the issues at hand. Please advise the date, time, name and numbers. For a lunch booking at 2.00pm it is fair to appreciate the kitchen service may close shortly later however we are happy for customers to take as long as they like. Like most restaurants our staff take an afternoon break before opening again for an evening service but we never have chased customers away who are enjoying our ambience as everyone remains on site. Our Chef does not make the coffee. Our experienced bar staff, waiters, managers make the coffee so I would appreciate a little bit more information as to who said this to you - but despite that you say you received a cappuccino which would have come straight form the bar area to you so no reason for it to be cold. Had it not been to you satisfaction we would happily have replaced it for you.Tough times? Yes tough times. I cannot being to explain the tough times. Our staff not only make an effort, they go beyond making an effort for our customers and I have 100% faith and respect in every single one of our staff and its a shame that you were so disappointed in your experience you felt the need to give a disappointing review instead of speaking to one of our amazing managers.

“My top choice for seafood”
Sea Breeze staff always welcomes me with a smile and energy that leaves me feeling that the team enjoys what they are doing. Service is fantastic and efficient, but I always return here for the food. My favourite dish is the Seafood Curry that is plated excellently and is tasteful and flavoursome. The restaurant offers a great wine selection that is priced right. I leave Sea Breeze feeling satisfied and happy that I chose the restaurant each time I go.

“Been here a few times but”
Been here a few times but I really think this restaurant is struggling with simple quality. Seafood curry, dry, warm and not much flavour. Hake n chips ok but the chips were like hot greasy slimy limp bits of potato. Tuna burger... ummm okish... with fried cabbage they called seaweed. When there are full staff and only around 8 customers then I really think Nothing should go wrong but today’s was terrible and I just wanted to leave.I won’t go back again and I really don’t think for the cost the food is all that.

“A real find”
One of the best fish meals I have ever had. Nice ambience, friendly staff & GREAT FOOD. Quite expensive but good quality and very generous portion sizes, a real treat and one of our Cape Town highlights. Worth the visit... best to book in advance.

“Happy Hour oysters”
From 12-1pm this restaurant has two for one oyster happy hour and bottomless bubbly for R150 - my dream come true! Great little spot with friendly waitress and view of Table Mountain.

“Delicious”
We visited SeaBreeze while we were in Cape Town on the first part of our holiday to South Africa. We picked it initially as I am an Aberdonian and the restaurant owners are also Aberdonian. Unfortunately they were not there when we visited but the restaurant manager made us very welcome having clearly learned a few Doric phrases. We loved the relaxed ambience and were very impressed by the friendliness and efficiency of the service. The food was gorgeous, the recipe for the batter on my hake apparently having come from Aberdeen. My wife and I were most impressed by the whole evening and thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it

“Dinner tonight at Seabreeze”
Dinner tonight at Seabreeze on Bree. Only initial delay was a very fussy customer taking up way too much of the waitrons time. We were much quicker in our ordering and the wine water and oysters all duly arrived - though not together and the water was warm. All was going well till we had at least an hours wait before the mains arrived. No explanation, no apology, no offer of anything. We had long finished our wine so all in all a pretty bad show. Wouldn’t be significant if EXACTLY the same thing hasn’t happened last year. We brought up the issue with the waitron but all she had to say was that it was busy outside - but in fact it wasn’t really and none of those people had food either. I really like their food but I’m not going back - the place is just not well managed - they know in advance they will be busy but obviously make no effort to either combat this or at least have the courtesy to keep their customers informed. Standard practice to bang out starters and wine ASAP so people don’t walk out. Just not good enough

“Quite dissapointed, in fact very much so”
Firstly a restaurant in this day and age thet does not offer customers wifi (being foregneirs) is not a good thing at all! That said! The ambiance was lovely, very modern and friendly. The service good, friendly waitress. Our food however was not as nice! We ordered the menus most expensive courses, the prawns (dry and tasteless) and the fish ”Carpenter” which was lovely presented but a extremely boney fish, every mouthfull full of bones. It was dry, so I ordered extra butter - which arrived at the end of our meal. It was quite tasteless and did not impress at all! I said this to our waitress who just pulled a face. As this was out last night in CT we wanted it to be special. And unfortunately we were/are very dissapointed. We will not be back.
