*Atmosphere = 5/5 (nice place to hang out after a long day)*Service = 3/5 (waiter could have been more friendlier)*Food = won't rate (do not order their pasta if you are an enthusiastist. Their burgers are to die for, highly recommend it) Prices = okayFor Cape Townians, it does have the "Neighbouhood" restaurant feel and that is not a bad thing :)

My wife and I went to Salt with the intention of having a couple of drinks and possibly a bite to eat - we had neither! We waited and waited and waited, finally a waiter came, dropped off the menu and never returned. Eventually I went to the bar myself rather than wait any longer, I got a bland, couldn't care less reply from the guy behind the bar so promptly walked out. Drinks and food, sorry I can't give a review, for service I'd give a zero rating as there wasn't one.

I have had meals at numerous establishments worldwide, but NEVER EVER have I received such poor service. From having to repeat our drinks order, to the waitress (apparently also the manager) asking me what one of my guests ordered to drink. Our meals arrived - the medium rare steak was medium well done, the mushroom sauce did not appear either. On informing the waitress that the steak was now cold AND not done as ordered, we were informed by our waitress that the kitchen is very busy because they have a lot of meals to prepare and that we should "be generous" & "there is nothing I can do". On requesting to speak to the manager, to our shock & horror, she informed us that she was the manager!! Not ONCE did she offer to refire the order and only reacted when I asked her to remove the order from our bill or replace the order. NEVER AGAIN would we visit Salt.

Food was so great and will definitely came back .....had the hake for the 1st time there and it was so good

We just had lunch today! The waiter was really nice and gave us very good hints of the menu and of Port Elizabeth city!!Very good food and environment !!! We recommend!

Nice, laid back atmosphere with plenty of tables inside and outside. Very extensive drinks list including a wide range of traditional and some more interesting cocktails, as well as larger fish bowls and jars. Reasonably priced too- a great place to spend a couple of hours before heading out, or just to relax in the evening.

Was very impressed service was quick the setting was excellent and most important the food was even better,was also very well presented to us and price was very reasonable as well

This place has good food for good prices. Their cocktail selection is fantastic and never disappoints. The bar can be slow on busy nights. Will go back.

Great place to have a late breakfast or brunch. Coffee - superb. The Poached eggs(x3) on french batard and coriander are superb and very filling - huge portion. Orange juice - fresh.The place has poor acoustics and those people who insist on talking on their cell phones can be heard a mile away and it seems to attract those types ! Need to make the dining areas a little more private. Feels like you're eating in a barn but otherwise excellent service and food.
