Dear MorganWe always do appreciate constructive criticism from our customers as it helps us to improve the “Rick’s” experience for everybody.Firstly, let me please apologise for the slow service – I sincerely apologize for this. I already spoke to my management and waitron staff that we must improve the training so that slow and impersonal service is not happening again to any of our customers. I’m sorry about your bland Rump steak, but we do not use any steak house basting as we believe the natural flavour of a Rump or Fillet should only be enhanced by salt, black pepper, and when finished off in the frying pan with some butter and the string of thyme and a garlic glove. I do understand that the Steak house basting is a usual covering and only spicing of meat in most steakhouses or restaurants but the artificial flavours and the amount of sugar in it is not what we like to put on our steaks. Our sauces are made with a demi-glace what is an old school basic sauce made from bones and mirepoix, tomato paste, red wine and grand jus. Where we add the black and green pepper, chopped onions, flame it with brandy and reduce it with cream. This is the first complaint we ever had in 15 years for our sauces. (It’s not a thick velouté sauce with added pepper nor an artificial sauce made out of powder as you will get it in many Steakhouses and restaurants) We still have the same chefs as in our old location and the recipe has not changed.We are the first to apologise and rectify any mishap or food complains immediately after we have been notified about any problem a customer may have with his table, the waiter or the food. We pride ourselves of our good service and continuous good food standards. We don’t often get complaints and when we get one, we do react immediately making sure any shortcomings are rectified to the total satisfaction of our customers there and then. Regrettably, you did not tell the waitress or any of our managers on duty about your slow service as we would be able to rectify our shortcomings immediately. Also we could have changed your Rump with something more suitable for your taste buds but we only read about your dislike here on TripAdvisor the day later. As we employ humans, with all their faults and greatness, mistakes do happen unfortunately sometimes. Please accept my humble apologies for the slow service and I hope you join us soon again and I promise you will have a different experience. Dear AndyThank you so much for taking the time to write a review on Tripadvisor and we are very happy that you had a good time at our Restaurant.Our bathrooms are done tongue in cheek and supposed to be fun and are done on purpose as they can be used as an Instagram background, so far everybody loved the design of our bathrooms, especially the wallpapers. The upstairs lady bathroom in question has a wallpaper what shows a red carpet moment with various photographer trying to shoot (photograph) a celebrity on the Oscar presentation of 1940. If you use one of our unisex downstairs restrooms you will have Humphrey Bogart and, or Ingrid Bergman looking at you… at the upstairs gents restroom you also have 2 wall papers from the ‘40ies, there are 3 ladies sitting on a rocket and a blond diva looking over your shoulder while you doing your business. All done in good taste.We feel so sorry that the wall paper made you feel uncomfortable but its just a wallpaper.Looking forward seeing you soon again at our restaurant and maybe we can talk about my idea of restaurant design Kind regardsPer Menko
