Ocean Basket - Canal Walk

We ordered take away from them via Mr Delivery.Disappointed with the food. It was very small portions and looked like it was all put together in a rush.The fish and chips was put in a foam take away container and the food tastes like foam. Rather consider to put your take away in bamboo or bio degradable containers.

Excellent service with friendly staff members, I ordered the platter for one and it was one of the best meals I had. Will definitely be returning for more.

The best seafood experience and available in all corners of South Africa. Lovely fresh seafood served with rice or chips and always fresh. The garlic sauce with mussels is amazing too. Platters to share also available. Enjoy a piece of the Cape and it’s best seafood. You’ll miss it and the experience once you leave.

Because of previous excellent service and food quality at this restaurant, we decided to once again decided to visit. Consistency is the key word. Calvin, our waiter was on the ball. The food was well prepared and the timing of the food was as good as usual. I applaud the management for maintaining excellent service with the quality and taste of food only Ocean Basket can produce. I have tried various seafood restaurants but the unusual flavors of Ocean Basket is unique. I advise that if you want a good tasty seafood dish at reasonable prices, visit an Ocean Basket restaurant especially the Canal Walk restaurant.

Great for just a quick lunch. I know it's part of their decor /style but the only thing I did not like was the uncomfortable chairs.

We decided to have supper at ocean basket canal walk last night for a birthday celebration. I have not been to that branch in a while since i always go to sea point.I was very disappointed in the meal received. The chips was brown looked a bit burnt. The fish was chewy instead of melting and soft. The prawns had no taste and the garlic sauce had no flavour at all. It is very disappointing to spend almost R200 for a meal per person and receive this level of food. I will definitely not be going back. I could have bought me a burger meal at KFC for half the price and it would have tasted way better. Also when i wanted to change my orange juice after receiving it to a milkshake the waiter looked more irritated and chatted to the manager who just gave me a look.Please up your game Ocean basket canal walk. If you wondering why sales are dropping this is the reason.

I am a visitor from Spain and we decided to go to Ocean Basket as I last went to one about 10 years back. This branch definitely take the prize for organised chaos. We were seated promptly and within minutes bread rolls were placed on the table. We sat for over 20 min when finally a waiter arrived, took our drinks order and main meal order. 20 min later we were still waiting for our drinks. Noticed table next to us who came in afterwards were served with drinks. My starter arrived about 30 min after being seated, however our drinks were nowhere to be seen. 45 min on and finally our drinks arrived.Our waiter seemed to spend more time on the computer rather than making sure his customers were happy. 50min waiting for food, we were then informed that an item ordered was no longer available to order and had to be changed. I then called the manager who seemed to be aimlessly walking around, hardly managing and making sure things were organised. I questioned why we were only informed 50min later that an item we had ordered was no longer available. Finally our meal arrived which was very good. A restaurant experience is the full package (Service & Food) , and your service was well below par.
