Ocean Basket - Blue Route Mall

I always have the best time at the ocean basket at blue route mall. The food is really delicious and brought in a timely manner. Service is always amazing and the waiters always make sure I have a good time and I never wait long for my food.

Today my husband, daughter and I walked into Tokia Blueroot mall ocean basket. Being very hungry. As we walked In. I requested the full deck platter which we orders a few time before, by other branches. A week prior to this in V&A waterfront.My words percific was full deck fries and rice clearly included. While we sat down a few minutes I called the waiter to came take our drinks order and ask if we don't get rolls. The waiter clearly not interested. Minutes later she came and we had to remind her about our drinks we would love to order. Observing only 2other tables in the place fill and they not busy. Drinks arrived with dirty bottle tamato sauce which I asked to clean myself. Later on rolls arrived 3only normally we get 5 or 6. The food arrived and looked and tasted terrible. Chips hard, no rice. Buttersauce looks like water. Not even tasty. The manager came over and the brought the rice all dry with no garlic or butter sauce. This is the worse I ever experice. It's like the manager just didn't "give a damn". My family decided to go without eating the food and just paid and leave. Fish and mussels tasted like nothing was on it. Fish was full of small bones and unpleasant.I don't think this store should serve this bad food. Extremely disappointing, fryers not working so can't have anything fried, manager also seems abit clueless and service very slow, won't be back again

We had a lunch in the mall. Food was good, but service was exceptionally slow in spite of them having few customers due to covid restrictions.

Fantastic restaurant, great views all around,greatfood,quickservice platter for 1 and meditarian mussel starter was delicious including the drinks thanks to Jacques the manager@blueroute mall and staff for the great service from me and hubby we appreciate you and oceanbasket

Has to be one of the most beautiful views of the back of Table Mountain and Tokai. The setting makes this Ocean Basket special and the staff try to live up to that with excellent service. The food is as beautifully presented as the photographs on the menu, and you won't be disappointed to enjoy at Ocean Basket's modest pricing. Wonderful for families.

The restaurant was very full on the evening of our visit and we were lucky to get a table as potential customers following us were seen to be unable to be seated. The food we had was up to the usual OB standards and the service was particularly good, given the fact that the restaurant was so busy.

The service was fast and my waitor was very friendly. I had the romesco prawns and salmon. The fish was fresh and the prawns went well with a glass of beyerskloof. Definately a great place for eating.

I do not eat fish unless I really feel like it so I won't choose a fish restaurant.My friends just arrived from Durban and we went to Blue Route in search of supper.A decision was made to eat at Ocean Basket. It was my first time so I could not comment but they felt like fish.The waiter was very attentive and brought us bread whilst we decided.I had hake and veggies. My friend was vegetarian (sort of fasting) and had the stir fry which she said was very good. I had some of her fries and it was good. Her husband and two daughters shared a Seafood platter for two (which they could not finish). I tried some (doggie bag) the next morning and it was good. Might become a fan

So disappointed. Untrained staff doing their best. But clearly the 'manager' is the most disinterested being ever to not run a branch. Not doing anything to ensure all depts are running smoothly. Didnt engage with a single table. Doing your otherwise reliable brand a huge disservice.
