O'Galito - Woodlands

They still provide very good food. We had seafood for a starter because the seafood platter strangely does not include mussels. However, it was still very good. Mains for me was leg of lamb. The lunch special is slightly smaller but it was very well prepared and therefore very good. Service was not so good but in all fairness, they were very busy despite an ongoing pandemic.

Sunday lunch at the beginning /end of the month is a touch and go affair. Finding an open table at a popular spot is not guaranteed. And so it was when we went to O'Galito Woodlands to celebrate our wedding anniversary. They were full. As in bulging. I always find this to be an interesting barometer of a venue's popularity, and by extension its overall quality. What I mean is, if you are unsure of where to go when confronted by a variety of choices in a mall, check out which restaurants are full and which are not at a peak time, like Sunday lunch at month end. There is a reason why some eateries are not busy at such times... Anyway, back to O'Galito. We put our names on the waiting list along with my mobile number, and went shopping. Soon afterwards we received a call. Our table was ready. And so began the adventure... The choices are almost mind-boggling. There is a variety of dishes and food styles almost second to none. Only the most fussy eater on the planet will not be able to find something on the extensive menu, specials menu, sushi menu etc etc. They run a series of daytime specials, with some only valid on certain days and others valid only during daytime hours. My wife and daughter enjoy sushi, so the half price sushi daytime special (yes, including Sundays...) is a winner for us. And (apparently as I can't get sushi down my throat...) it's really good. My steak and calamari combo off the daytime special menu was excellent. We could not fault the quality or quantity, even on the specials. Some venues are known to serve smaller portions for their "specials", but not this one. Everything was really, really good. Waitrons are plentiful so service is quick and efficient. In short, this venue is well worth the trip out to the far east of Pretoria, especially for lunch.

We recently had a meal at O Galito's and I realised I had never done a Tripadvisor review! There really is something for everyone at the restaurant, from sushi to steak to great starters and excellent burgers. I have never had bad service, although a little patience is needed on busy nights. The wine list is good, with some well priced items that pair well with whatever you are eating. Speaking of prices, the exotic seafood is rather expensive, but then again it is expensive everywhere else too. There is a kid play area just outside, so families are catered for too. Try it next time you are in the area - you won't be disappointed!

We were a group of 10 people that enjoyed lunch. There are many specials, and they are very good value for money. I recommend the pork cutlets with mash. Some ordered the fish and calamari. They really enjoyed it. The service was very good. They got all the orders right. Restaurant is classy, but you can relax and enjoy yourself. Managers were very attentative and involved. Good job.

Worst service ever on the last day of the year.Lee needs to go for a customer service course.Her manner of approach is disgusting.If you don't feel like working on 31 Dec, please close shop instead of spoiling our day. I am so disappointed in O'Galito Woodlands. Lee,I booked with you to make my family birthday lunch special and you truly went out of your way to ruin it.

The standards of service has gone.Once a stylish upmarket restaurant with immaculate cuisine.Now a tacky restaurant with poor service, tasteless food and unprofessional staff.We waited 50min fir two plates of sushi, when we complained the manager, dressed in ripped jeans and black tank top, being very aggressive and non-cooperative.We use to go there for special occasions, but the restaurant has been regressing over the last 4years, today reaching a new low. We will never return.The time for O'Galittos is gone.

We've tried the lunch menu for the first time today - seeing that it is December and we were looking for a bit of a special. For R69,99 the calamari and veggies I had were really great and for R79,99 the chicken curry my husband had was just as good! Definitely value for money, yet not skimping on value.

There we were, five friends and colleagues for lunch at O Galito's. Not my first time so I waited for my friends to respond. Firstly, they thought the lunch specials might be smaller portions compared to the standard menu. They weren't. Big plates with man-size portions. The quality was excellent. Service was okay and the drinks arrived quite promptly. However, we waited a while for the food. It was worth the wait but that is not the point. The service could be better. Will I go again? For sure!

Also spoilt for choice with a wide range of tasty meals to choose from and then my alltime favourite their breakfast buffet at a budget price suiting your wallet.
