Basic don to earth establishment with excellent Italian food. In my opinion the pizza cannot be beat. Visited on numerous occasions and will continue to return.

Moda is situated in Shepards Market, close to Hyde ark corner. It is a small unpretentious restaurant, situated alongside a parking lot. Their thin crust pizzas are superb and well worth a visit.

Quaint laid back restaurant selling the most delicious pizzas. It is small so booking is essential! All the pizzas we ordered were delicious, you will not be disappointed.

The service, however, was dismissive and uninterested - perhaps as the owner was not present during our visit. But don't let that put you off as he pizzas make up for it!

The service was so bad that I cannot actually remember the meal at all. What I can remember is the servers paying no attention to us, sitting in a freezing spot with smokers standing outside right next to us, A truly awful experience.

A different setting: looks like a temporary structure off a parking lot behind a block of flats. But great Italian food with both conventional and unusual dishes on offer. Not tried many of the dishes as I love the Gorgonzola Pizza and my wife loves the Asparagus and Prawn Risotto. Good service. Limited wine list and they do charge R60 corkage if you bring your own.

Feeling like a good, hearty, helping of authentic Italian food, we made a reservation at Moda.A tiny little restaurant, with tables spilling onto the parking lot, this is a ‘must visit’ gem.Sublime pasta with Gorgonzola and Parma, asparagus and prawn risotto. A gentle background guitarist completed the perfect full moon evening. Wonderful.

Traditional flavourful Italian Meals! The Specials board is always scattered with delicious Pizza, pasta, meat, and banting friendly meals. My wife and I took a bottle of wine as corkage is inexpensive and we had the best seafood pasta and mushroom risotto! The bruschetta starter is an absolute must! This place is all about the food!The restaurant is set in a small courtyard off the busy street.No fuss service with the waiters and the owner is very hands on and passionate!

A little hidden gem - great atmosphere and food. Authentic Italian food, wood fired pizza oven and great service. The owner is so friendly - we would certainly become regulars if we lived in Johannesburg.

Moda is a small authentic Italian restaurant in Shepard Market, just a hop and skip from Hyde Park corner. Situated, literally, in the parking lot, it is unpretentious and yet quite cosy. Ambience is provided by the wood fired pizza oven and quiet music. Canvas sides and heaters keep the restaurant warm in winter. They offer a relatively small menu, but all your favorites are there, plus a few specials of the day. We generally migrate to the specials and have not been disappointed. My lovely wife and I shared 2 different pizzas and could not decide which was better as they were both great. The service was good and prompt. The wine list is very limited but reasonably priced. Not sure of their corkage policy, but would be a advantage to promote this. We had Dom Pedros for desert but sadly they don't stock Kahlua so had to settle for whiskey. Don't be put off by the location, you will be impressed.
