Unique ambience in this eclectic place. Wonderful to taste authentic injera & we were recommended tasty stews by the host. We had a fantastic time. Don't miss this Ethiopian gem!

Etiopian restaurant, super friendly. We followed the advice of the charming waiter and went for the sharing plate. Goodness me we couldnt finish it. The quality, ambiance and value were unbeatable. Arguably our favourite restaurant in the whole of Cape Town

It was our first time to try Ethiopian food, it was delicious. Our waitress was attentive. Restaurant decor was unique.

If you want to experience authentic Ethiopian food with a magical atmosphere then this is the place for you, Madam Taitou’s has an extensive menu of different Ethiopian curries/ stews to suit every palette-they cater to vegetarians and vegans as well! I had the veggie sampler and it was amazing - so many different curries; lentil, spinach, chickpea and more with a sourkraut salad and a traditional tear away flat bread- that you use to eat your food with. If you are opposed to eating with your hands then this is NOT the place for you. The atmosphere of the restaurant makes you feel as if you are eating in either a museum or an old curio shop. There are plants and African trinkets everywhere- so when waiting for my food I was distracted by all the cool things to look at! The restaurant was packed with people, I went on a Sunday night at around 8pm, so get in early or share a table with strangers and meet new friends- this is actually an option .

My bestie had her 25th bday here - we were served vegetarian platters full of goodness, with toilet roll shaped wraps! Apparently gluten free to? Everything was cheap and enjoyable, service was fine/good and everyone was happy. Just a bit squashed and a lack of zircon but otherwise I recommend trying it if you are feeling adventurous!

Excellent food and service! Recommend the lamb ribs and veggie platter! Two years straight I’ve been to this place and there’s a reason I beg them for a spot the moment I land!

We had an amazing time. We ordered the veg sampler and it was really good... Loved the entire decor of the place too
