La Rosa Mexican Grille Tequileria

Popped out for a much-deserved catch-up with colleagues to get away from the home office. Afraid to say that much to our disappointment, we decided to go to La Rosa (sad sad face). We were a total of 4 patrons in the restaurant at the time and ordered the squid option of their tacos but requested a (healthier) grilled option. Manager told us that the chef will only do this once as it changes the construct of the meal (in a Michelin Star restaurant, yes, but in a local - ok whatever you say, we are after all the customer) Poor waitress told us that she too took the brunt of this "unusual" order when she presented it to the kitchen.Food was tasty however 1 slice of avo and exactly 3 calamari tubes on each taco. Look closely when ordering drinks - paid R95 for a 250ml Tequila Sunrise.During these challenging times, we wish you luck for the future, perhaps other patrons are more willing to part with their hard-earned cash at an establishment that provides a below-average experience.

Looks great but tastes average at best. Jalapeño croquettes are actually just cheesy potato croquettes, all meat fillings way too salty and tastes the same. 3 small overcooked prawns per taco at the price a rip off. Great service though and nice space. Please pay attention to flavour and quality of ingredients. My favorite Mexican - Salsa - closed and we would love a place to go to but just not good enough to frequent this place. Great churros though

What a wonderful experience, this was a lovely surprise. Never heard of the place, search for a restaurant near us and was rewarded with this exquisite restaurant Excellent service, well seasoned authentic Mexican food and delicious margaritas. Will highly recommend

We had lunch here as a couple. My wife had an excellent Burrito Bowl and frozen Margarita, while I was disappointed in my Nachos, which was more like a “baked” nachos. I also thought the nachos were a bit tasteless and a bit soft in the middle of the dish. There was plenty of cheese in the dish. Service was great

We book ahead of time got give a table in an abandoned corner, at the bottom. Private party on the top section with the only top section access after midnight at a cost of R50. The bottom section closes at 22:30 [which we were never advised when booking] Let me not mention that u have no access to bathrooms at all, all bathrooms are located on the upper section and after spending a pretty penny being told to use the complex public toilet, "Very much against standard health and safety regulations!" Dont try to celebrate a big day like new years there! The food was bland as well which is not the norm it's usually nice and spicy! Extremely bad management! They have lost regular customers for good!

We spend the evening with friends , very little support from the waiter on what the options are about as it was our first visit. The food was slow to arrive and was really not good value for what was plated. What you pay for and the ambiance is not inline. Will never go back

We eat here often, and never leave disappointed. The food is always excellent and authentic Mexican. The decor, vibe and atmosphere adds to the experience.

This is a very good restaurant and we very often stops there on Sunday nights after church for a light dinner and coffee.

Visit the establishment on Saturday , we were 10 people seated . The place was packed with customers .Only one order was incorrect , which is not a train smash as our waiter did very well with drinks and food . Great atmosphere and great food . Will definitely be back

We visited the restaurant for Mother’s Day lunch. Great food, great atmosphere, we really enjoyed lunch here!
