Koekela Huiskafee

We were 2 families who stopped in at Koekela while roadtripping from Gauteng to the Cape. The location and people are delightful and incredibly proud of what they do. The food is fresh, light and appealing, and the ambience is welcoming, cheerful and serene. Koekela even stayed open for us when we said we were driving through and would be arriving late. This is a real good find!

Delightful, eclectic decor in this lovely old house, just off 2nd Avenue in the centre of Bloemfontein. A great place for a quite and relaxed lunch or breakfast with friendly, attentive staff and a great menu with a lot of choice. The crumpet stack was a great breakfast and the bobotie pie a delicious lunch option. One of the nicest places for a bit of relaxation in Bloem.

A very homely setting, friendly staff, and good food. Definitely value for money. The relaxed, quiet atmosphere makes you forget you are in a busy city.

Such a special place ! Whether it is for a breakfasy, brunch or just a piece of cake. Koekela provides the goods in terms of relaxing atmosphere whether you’re seated inside the house or in the garden or on the stoep. Their cakes are magnificent!

Had amazing cake here and nice atmosphere. Expensive but I suppose compared to ALL the other Cafès out there, it is not too bad

We went there for a family breakfast. The food was great as well as the atmosphere. They should invest in a good coffee machine and barista. Initially I got a normal cappuccino instead of a red cappuccino. It was really a bit on the poor side but the red cappuccino was good.

We had lunch, both of us having salads. the salad was fresh, original and huge portions. well presented and good service

We all ordered different dishes from an interesting menu. The salads and wraps were all enjoyed, think the scone was more a muffin than a scone and the quiche not wow but okay. Loved the decor and ambience of the gardenFriendly staff average wait for food

25 minutes to get a sandwich! That says about all you need to know. The food was good when it finally came, but the service was ridiculously slow, and when I had to get up to find the waitress, I was given a rude look for even asking. This one is off my list.

We had my husbands birthday there and the breakfast was really excellent The owners is great and service awesome i would reccomend everyone to this Coffee Shop when they are on their way to bloem
