Jonkershuis Constantia Eatery

Going on a wet, rainy Cape Town day, made the experience more surreal. The food was average, the service average and I found it very difficult getting to the restaurant and getting in. Lots of steps and gravel to walk on - not really ideal for anyone with a disability. We were at the restaurant at the same time as some sort of party, and all attention seemed to be on the party and we were often forgotten about and squeezed into a cold corner.

When we arrived there were no more tables available. The staff immediately offered a solution and made service "exceptions" to make us happy. How great When you see a team going over expectations and rules for you, it made us feel so special and makes us want to come again Thanks a ton!I was also bringing a foreign friend for the first time and now she's blown away by the south african way of welcoming

visited jonkershuis on easter sunday for brunchwas told over the phone what time to be there and that they have a strict 1 hour table turnaroundwas reasonably busy but not overly crowdednice setting ..ordered breakfast for myself and wife and my two girlsfood not bad but not great considering the location and pricemy eggs benedict was a little tasteless but the sour dough bread both me and my wife had you would have needed a saw to cut through.ruined the breakfast a littlehave had a better in other places.won't be visiting again any time soon..

Overall this estate is amazing and a lovely experience but we found the hostess at Jonkerhius restaurant very rude and abrupt. Clearly many people ask to order their wine on the grass which isn’t permitted but the way she dealt with us was awful, not a great customer experience at all. Luckily the other staff more than made up for it to save the experience in the end.

Need to start off with saying; our Waitress Sbongile was out of this World. She did nothing but enhance the dining experience. It Was an absolute pleasure to have her as our Waitress.As soon as we sat down she notified us about the upcoming load shedding and managed the table very well in that regard.Starters, Mains and Desserts were excellent. Mussels, Pasta, Pork, Cheesecake and Malva were fantastic. Couldn't recommend highly enough

Outstanding food and service, we had burgers, fish and chips, warm fish pate and Bon Bon . All dishes were superb . Service was even better, a long time since I have seen a team working a room so well, Cindy and Angie just spot on , a breath of fresh air

I love Groot Constantia for its beauty , walks, dining and wines - child friendly, doggie friendly (on leads) . However this morning a friend and I stopped for coffee ?? and breakfast . Sadly the first disappointing thing was zero low fat/fat free milk - so no skinny coffees. Ok so we went for 2 Americano and a menu. With all the gorgeous roasters in the area one would think a premium estate would have exquisite coffee - wrong wrong , so ver bad we thought the barrister must have burnt (scalding hot) so we asked for them to be changed , second ones equally bad, looking like murky mud , bitter and un drinkable . The wait on was lovely and apologetic, she gave us the brand which neither of us had ever heard ?? We paid , we left . Please please serve good localCoffee ??

What a lovely restaurant! With covid running around and a puppie we love to take on adventure walks, this is the perfect place, where you can sit under the trees, enjoy an incredible meal after a long and soul re energizing walk, and the best part is you can use the entertainer app, which means we will use this place a lot even after entertainer uses are done cause it’s a wonderful experience! Come and enjoy! What a beautiful place with a lovely view, incredible food (fish, curry & chicken breast are incredible) & wonderful service!!! Oh and bring your dogs, but book outside table in advance it’s popular!

This is a good wine estate and Jonkershuis restaurant is nice for sitting outdoors under the trees with social distancing. The food is good - average pricing.Efficient waitron.
