We visited the HOC on the evening of 20 December as my wife was craving a good bunny chow. I ordered a lamb bunny, my son ordered lamb pita and my wife ordered a bean bunny.my lamb bunny was a curry with shredded meat and left-over potatoes. the bread was not fresh. My son's pita was a mini pita, the chips were great though. A trip to the chef, please cook your spices before adding the beans, as that bunny was more like a raw masala bunny with beans. Not a place i will try again and certainly not recommended,

“Lekker Roti”
Food was great, delicious cocktails & outstanding service.Lamb roti was tender & portions very generous. Great samoosas. Sports bar decor & vibe more than a sit down restaurant. Sadly Florida road is know for car theft & our vehicle was stollen. Would rather Uber there than drive & park.

“Nothing special”
Visited House of Curries (HOC) with guests from outside of Durban. On the busy viby Florida Road. There was no sign indicating it was the House of Curries, so drove past it. Menu was Durban curry. Nothing special about the curries. Lamb was tough and I should have rather gone for the prawns. Mini prawn business were a hit! All in all a fair venue. Service good, but it is a sports bar type of area. So do not expect to have a meeting during your meal.

“Wonderful!!!”
By sharing your experiences, you're helping travellers make better choices and plan their dream trips. Thank you! What a wonderful meal we had. We ate the rotis and they were amazing. In our opinion the beef was better than the chicken, chip and cheese but they were both delicious. The waiter was also very good.

“This restaurant allows drunks to harass women customers and does nothing to stop them”
I was visiting Durban and asked a friend to take me for rotis so we went here. While we were eating there was an obviously drunk man who was bothering one of the lady patrons. staff in the restaurant could also see it and they did nothing about about it. Even though there were security guys employed by the restaurant who could see what was happening they did nothing to stop the man or remove him from the premises. In fact at some point the staff brought the drunk abuser a chair so he could sit down and keep bothering the women who clearly did not want to speak with him. I am disgusted by the way this was handled and will never go back to this badly managed establishment that clearly does not respect women

“Tough as nails”
HOC is one of my favourite restaurants in Durban, I try to eat here at least once on every business trip. I ordered the lamb curry and rice which is usually great. This time however the lamb was very sinewy and tough. I mentioned it to the waiter and all he said was oh, really. No follow up from management of apology from any of the wait or kitchen staff. May not try them again.

“Roti - Lamb Curry could be done better”
My first time at HOC. The atmosphere was good. The roti wrap wasn't done properly... It needed some touch ups. However the meat inside was good. The Roti Wrap had too many layers. Waiter never checks upon the table. We had to grab any waiter passingby several times. The WI-FI was efficient. ATTENTION-TO-DETAIL required.

“Not Great”
Had chicken curry which I thought was average. Edible and definitely tastes like curry but not great. Service was average as well, waiters are distracted so it takes a little while to be attended to from start to finish.
