Gino's is a staple of the south for good reason. The restaurant brings about a strong sense of nostalgia even for people like me who haven't grown up frequenting the place. The homely vibe and friendly attention from Gino himself makes you feel like you belong there. And boy does it get packed... every time I've been, and it's usually on a week night, the place is full. My boyfriend ordered the carbonara with gnocchi. The sauce was creamy and full of flavour and tasty bacon bits, and I thoroughly enjoyed the gnocchi. I ordered the Patate and Cicci Carne, which was strips of beef on a bed of mash, done the traditional way with beans apparently. But it was sure done right, as the orangey mash was totally yummy. The beef was alright, but I wasn't a huge fan. I prefer it thick and juicy, not thin and kinda chewy. We also had bits of everyone''s pizza and from past experiences I know their pizza is damn good (and huge). We'll definitely be back for more
