Food Studio

For the last three years Elsa and her team have been baking a cake for my relative (for his birthday) who lives in a care facility in Potchefstroom. This year I contacted Elsa with a special request from my relative, who asked for a vanilla sponge cake, covered with chocolate on top. Elsa and her team created this wonderful cake, topped with chocolate as requested, and finished with cream, strawberries and icing sugar. It was a real work of art (see the photo). When I spoke to my relative today on his birthday, we was the most enthusiastic and grateful I think I have ever heard him being about a gift. He was delighted that the cake was exactly what he had requested, along with the extra touches of cream and strawberries. Elsa made all the arrangements for the collection of the cake, so I didn't have to lift a finger! I only wish I could have sampled the cake myself, but I rely on my relative and his friends saying it was amazing! I am quite sure Elsa will take care of any special requests, and I am equally sure that eating in her restaurant would be an amazing experience.

I contacted the owner, Elsa, with a special request to deliver a birthday cake to my relative in Potchefstroom. Elsa took care of everything, and arranged for the cake to be delivered to the care facility where my relative lives. The cake looked super special, decorated with icing swirls and top deck chocolate pieces! My relative tells me he and his friends really enjoyed it, and it tasted amazing! Elsa is just one of those really nice people you come across in life, and I really felt she took great care of my request. I will of course be in touch next year to request that she bake another cake for my relative's birthday. Such amazing service! When I made contact in July, Food Studio was open for delivery and takeaway. If you are looking for some really nice food in Potchefstroom, with outstanding service, I am sure Food Studio won't disappoint.

I really enjoyed this small shop. You can eat outside ... the bakery is lovely and the salads and sandwiches are tasty. The decor is tasteful.

Elsa has a small busy restaurant and take away - serving daily lunches with a daily menu. You may also have take away, pies, wraps, quiches, wonderful cakes, milk tart, brownies to mention a few. All prepared freshly on site. The kitchen and dining area are integrated with a communal dining table. There are not many places to sit - so if you want to have lunch there, come early.They also serve good coffee and other drinks. Water available on the table for free.

The only place in Potch with a truly city feel, for quick lunches eat in and take-away lunches that aren't junk food. Their pies are legend!

I adore this place. The atmosphere is very nice and friendly. THe food is out of this word and alway fresh. The owner Elsa is pleasant and always there to welcome you. The french style and look is fresh and something else for Potchefstroom. The ready home made pies, home cooked meals and the soup in the winter or cold days is my favourite.

Always a great option for a proper healthy hearty plate of food. Good atmosphere. Easily accessible.

This café / bakery is a must visit in Potch! Quite small, so crowds won't flock here. The food is very tasty and quite reasonably priced. Their pies are to die for, while their salads are quite refreshing. They also do takeaways.
