“Pet friendly beer tasting”
Festive beer tasting with tapas style menu from around the world. Most impressed that our fur baby was allowed to join us for the experience.

“Good beer and satisfying grub”
We visited for a beer tasting and lunch. The menu dedicates each page to a country with one or two dishes typical from that country. The hubby had the bratwurst and I had a vegetarian burger: vegetable patty with feta and guacamole, and awesome fries. It was all very tasty and satisfying.

“Promising new restaurant”
Flagship Brew has recently changed hands and there’s a welcome focus away from beer to include a restaurant in the barn-like building next door. Currently, they’re still in the queue at the municipality for a license to serve wine, so if you want wine rather than beer, you’ll need to bring your own. The decor is dark and informal with accents of colour, including a Union Jack theme. The menu is unusual - supposedly tapas-style (how can a Thai vegetable soup be tapas?) - with separate pages for ‘flagship’ dishes from around the world. The UK gets fish cakes (surely it should be fish and chips) which disappointingly turned out to be bought in. The French offerings were plates of cheeses and meats, although most of these weren’t French. The French would throw their hands up in the air at a cheese spread or feta being included. So, the idea is interesting but not exactly faultless in its execution and needs more work. And buying in fish cakes is a dreadful idea when smoked snoek is so readily available.

“A Brewery and a bit more”
We stopped for a cold beer which was ice cold! Beer was very pleasant and small but fitting menu for a beer garden. Lovely under the trees. Nice range of different beers.

“Taste sensation”
We stopped for a quick beer and can recommend it. The owner is passionate about brewing beer and we had a very informative chat. Lovely experience to sit outside on the deck while sipping on your beer.

“Average”
My husband tasted the beer and I had the mini platter that consisted of a few pieces of biltong, salami and olives. definitely not worth the price. the outside courtyard is Summer, not sure where they will seat the patrons during winter.

“Delicious Lager and surprising ice tea!”
We popped in here on a recent visit and had the best lager and a delicious homemade icetea that was such a welcome surprise on the piping hot day. Unfortunately there was no stock of the lager for us to purchase but otherwise it is a really nice little spot to pop in and cool off.

“More beer.....”
The owner, Rodger and his wife are very attentive and always available for a chat about the beer and life. They have a very well presented beer sampling presentation or order your favorite by the pint. The beer is outstanding and brewed more traditionally which I enjoyed as some craft brewers can go over the top.Cheese and cold meat platters available on weekends.

“Craft Beer”
Being a great supporter of South African craft beer it was a pleasant surprise when we heard of this brewery in Riebeek-Kasteel. My wife and I each got a sampler set of the different beers and all I can say is WOW. Never mind the really tasty beer and Ice tea they brew the cheese platter we were served was out of this world. All locally sourced ingredients from the valley. The owners was fantastic hosts and it was a pleasure spending a few hours here. Great service, great beer, great food. Make sure you stop here.
