Fishmonger - Bryanston

What a disappointment!! Took 7 people for Saturday night dinner. Very few patrons 730 pm. You can’t serve South African men children portions organised by interior decorators. At those prices a substantial portion is mandatory! Took over an hour to get our meals. My favorite king klip thermidor was starter size and the mash was coldNuts!! Not up to standard. After being a regular patron at illovo for 2 decades they have lost me!!

This place pleasantly surprised me. I arrived with the typical expectations you’d have of a mass franchised business. The waiter recommended the Sea Bass and it lived up to his recommendation in every way. Delicate, buttery and perfect balance of lemon butter paired with a fruity Chenin Blanc. The food was served piping hot and stayed that way throughout the meal. A complimentary sorbet as a palate cleaner topped off a memorable and spontaneous experience. The service was great. Such a great change to the bad run I’ve had lately.

What a wonderful,stunning place.Fishmonger Braynston,it was my fiancee bday and we visited the establishment.The restaurant is very clean and nice, white linen table clothes and napkins every thing ontop,very nice.Our waiter Kobby and Victor where so amazing,service was on point.Nico and Bafana made sure everything went well and we where so happy from the moment we stepped in until we left.Covid protocols being followed,sanitized,staff wearing masks.Great experience indeed.Food was extremely good,must haves.Wonderful service.Thank you very much to Fishmonger team.

The menu caters for both fish eating and non fish eating patrons. Choose between salads, fish, meat and chicken dishesI had a chicken dish with stir fry, well prepared and tastyA good option at Nicolway

Open and airy position. Often eat here and always good fish and service. Usually have the sea bass but recently had very good langoustines. The creamy spinach is also tasty. Small bottles sparkling wine available.

I had been to Fishmonger in Fourways & Illovo(brilliant ) but this was a totally different experience.Service was poor even though my son & I were the only patrons at lunch time.Sadly this was my sons first treat whereby he decided to take me out & turned out to be the worst experience ever.We ordered the special hake & chips grilled, grilled calamari.Was presented on huge plates.Shocking portion even though advert was deceiving. Drinks were very expensive compared to other restaurants of same status.Waiter was totally disinterested in us but more interested in having conversation with other waiters. Will definitely not go there again!!! It was pathetic...

We love the fishmonger in Illovo, it seems incredible that this branch just cannot come near Illovo in quality or service. The staff seem to be trying to rush us and just get their tip. The fish portions were tiny, the chips soggy and had a burned oil flavour. At this price level it was a poor show.

I have to go back on my first review. This time the waiter was not having the best day, never asked if we wanted the fish grilled or fried. It ( the Supreme platter) arrived with an extra dose of salt though. No one checked if " everything is fine?" But just before the food arrived we were told that our small dog ( on our lap ) was not allowed. On previous visits the staff made a fuss over her,we had called ahead to make sure that she was no problem. We chose a table near the pavement,and it was well after lunch time. Won't go there again

We enjoyed EVERY, EVERY time we went: be it Sushi , Fish dishes , creme brule Genuinely well cooked, well presented . Well worth it, CANNOT find FAULT Mgmnt, Service , Hygiene , Cuisine : EXCELLENT Full disclosure: i'm not connected in AnyWAY to the EATERY yet So few keep good,or event decent, consistent level, we MUST give credit where credit due ,Well deserved
