Dutchies Restaurant

We visited for fish & chips. But this dish is in a different category at Dutchies! The very best fish and chips ever! Well presented too and ample in portion size. Service was friendly and prompt. Ideal for fish fresh from the ocean.

We popped in for a late lunch during the recent school holidays. The place was super busy and we were fortunate to get a table. The food took longer than normal to be brought to our table, but was worth the wait. The burgers were amazing and not a crumb remained on our plates.However, I would not recommend going there if you're looking for a quickie in-out meal. They get really busy and I think the kitchen gets overloaded, that time is not a priority. Choose your time wisely and be prepared to wait if it's busy.

I can't comment on the food, because of the bad taste left in my mouth by a rude waitress. After booking a table we were impolitely given the option to either leave the restaurant or move to another table inside. Apparently we took too long to order our food as there was another booking for our table. This after our waitress did not come to take our orders for an hour after being seated. The owner did not seem to mind. We moved inside to a table too small to fit our family and again we had to wait for an extra chair to squeeze around the table.

We went there based on a review seen in a local restaurant Facebook group. Well - an understatement voted excellent. The fish and chips was absolutely outstanding. Generous portion, beautifully cooked and well presented with freshly cut chips and delicious fresh salad. Our waiter was attentive enough without overdoing it (very professional) and the manager was both charming and clearly fully in charge in a good way. I would go back in a heartbeat and would highly recommend. Added bonus is the beach is 60 away ! Thank you for an overall great experience.

Went to Dutchies for the special on the menu: kroketten! They were wonderful nice and tasty and two per portion good easy be more! On a very nice terrace with superservice you cannot go wrong here.

Luckily Dutchies wasn't busy despite it being holiday season, so we easily got a table.My friend didn't enjoy his fish and chips, as the coating on the fish wasn't to his liking. My sushi was fine, but if I had a complaint, the pieces were too big to put into my mouth in one go. Rather serve smaller bite sized pieces, which sushi is meant to be.

It is at the beach, so you think it would be okay for a quick coffee and a snack, maybe a light meal. No! The food is excellent and you can have a proper full course meal under the trees. Great for family, friends or couples.

Beautiful view, good service (although place was busy during Sunday lunch hours and it took long to bring food to table). Value for money - definitely not! Shared Bitterballen as starter, and two portions of hake, one with chips and one with salad. One fried calamari and salad. Salads not up to standard, couple of lettuce leaves, three half cherry tomatoes, two thin onion slices. Bill touched on R1000 for three people, with only two bottles of Duthies white blend

Dutchies absolutely surprised me. Super clean, hight servise level, good breakfasts, nice coffee, fun little place at the ocean.

Perfect location across the road from Beautiful pristine Grotto beach. We had seafood - which was well prepared and presented. Friendly staff and excellent service. Huge portions.
